A couple good questions... Don't get too down about that. It's one of the fundamental features of our democracy, so that the Federal government doesn't go off the rails... I half wish it were; albeit done correctly. If they were up there mandating masks I might even get in line to bitch about it. But in reality I think the more protective leaders seem to be about us - in terms of masks, or gloves, washing hands, sanitizer, etc. - the more we will excel at beating the virus. The country is like a vehicle - you need to put the right kind of gas in the tank, and be sure to change the oil.
Trump's opening volley for the next coronavirus relief package. Trump looks to act on call to slow down testing he falsely blames for surge in cases Trump's proposal puts him at odds with Senate Republicans. By Jordyn Phelps and Ben Gittleson July 20, 2020, 1:48 PM Trump looks to act on call to slow down testing he falsely blames for surge in cases excerpt: "Sources tell ABC News that the administration is proposing zeroing out funding for coronavirus testing and contact tracing, as well as funds for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health in a coronavirus relief package, as an opening offer in negotiations over the forthcoming relief package. The president also announced Monday he would bring back the once-frequent coronavirus briefings, including leading them himself, likely as soon as Tuesday, after stopping them amid widespread criticism. The move came as an increasing number of states grappled with rising cases, hospitalizations and deaths and polls showed Americans increasingly disapprove of how he's handling the crisis."
Trump looks to act on call to slow down testing he falsely blames for surge in cases excerpt: "The desire to zero out funding the CDC also fit a pattern in which, over the course of the pandemic, the White House has sidelined the agency, not including its leaders in public briefings, blocking its director from testifying before Congress, and nixing it from the lead role in collecting data on the virus. Trump himself has pressured the CDC to change its coronavirus-related guidelines for schools -- the agency says it plans to release additional guidance, but so far has not done so -- and last week shared a message on Twitter accusing the agency of "lying" in order to influence the November election; Trump provided no evidence for this claim."
Really, I see it the other way round, this is the part where I'd have to educate you numbnuts on your own legislative framework
In addition, teacher unions are suing DeSantis over his push to reopen schools. Trump has much to explain at his upcoming revived coronavirus press briefings (campaign rallies). https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/07/20/covid-live-updates-us/ excerpt: ""President Trump — whom aides say no longer attends coronavirus task force meetings because he does not have time — showed himself to be particularly misinformed about the basics of the virus that has been ravaging the nation for more than four months. He told Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday that “young people that would heal in a day” made up many of the new cases. Kentucky, Louisiana, Oregon and South Carolina all set new single-day records on Sunday, contributing to a nationwide tally of 64,650 new known cases. Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa and five other states have seen their seven-day average for daily new fatalities rise by more than 40 percent in the past week. More than 100 Florida hospitals have run out of ICU beds for adults. The state has reported more than 10,000 new covid-19 cases on 12 separate days this month.""
I think he's referring to this one... 'I'll be right eventually': Donald Trump defends his COVID-19 response and you can be sure someone will echo that sentiment.
In Trump's mind, 100 hospitals in Florida have run out of ICU beds for young people who have the sniffles that last just a day.
No, in this instance, if one of you whinges about your own state governor, what he/she is or isn't doing, your fellow Americans who don't live in that state, don't really give a shit about that state or that governor Whereas you all have the same President, you can be united in whinging about the same Person even though it makes it sound like you all don't know how your own country works Inslee, Cuomo and Whitmer They are the more responsible than anyone else Not that you give a shit about Australia, but everyone here is blaming the state premiers for the spread, the NSW one for letting passengers off a cruise ship, Victorian one for hiring minimum wage security guards for hotel quarantine. Would make no sense to blame the federal leader for that kind of stuff Ya all hate Republicans and Trump personally, want to foam at the mouth, but you all sound like idiots, crapping on about the president for stuff that is those governors fault I bet you Inslee still hasn't done anything about those nursing home staff not working multiple sites
Sigh, more bullshit claims about being out of ICU beds from the left media If that were the case they would be building field hospitals ...and you'd be easily able to provide photos/videos of either the crammed hospitals or the new field hospitals and the zero patients they are currently not treating Remember New York?
Trump just announced that he is sending federal law enforcement to all major cities, like Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. He said they are not troops, but only law enforcers like the ones in Portland. It sounds like he wants to stifle all protests before the election. The motive is likely that he knows he will not win and then refuse to step down, which in turn would cause massive protests. Mister Putin must be delighted.
I don't see anywhere that references the shit modelling Unfortunately, Trump will be kind of right, it won't disappear completely this year of course, but you won't see a jump in the daily death rate until winter, which will be after the election In the lead up to November, that daily death rate dribbles down to low three figures, or double digit figures he will sound right enough
