    Trump's mental masturbation continues.

Trump now says he is no longer taking hydroxychloroquine.

Apparently, his handlers realized that Trump saying that he is taking the drug (which he hasn't shown evidence of taking) implies that the coronavirus is still a threat to the U.S. (which it is), a fact that they don't want the public to know, in spite of their disclaimer agreements for his upcoming public rallies that indicate it is still a threat.

Trump's claim about taking hydroxychloroquine undermined his contention that the virus is of little health risk.

It's a mistake similar to his remark that the coronavirus was the Democrats' new hoax against him, which implied that the coronavirus wasn't a threat to the U.S., a claim for which he was gravely mistaken.

Trump says he's no longer taking hydroxychloroquine
“Finished, just finished,” the president said of the unproven treatment he'd said he was taking to protect himself from the coronavirus. “And by the way, I’m still here.”

The FDA recently revoked authorization of using hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for the coronavirus which undermines Trump's claim that it is effective as a curative remedy.

The World Health Organization announced this week that it was suspending trials of hydroxychloroquine due to health risks.

Trump hasn't offered any evidence for his wilder claim that hydroxychloroquine is a preventative measure for COVID-19, just vague remarks such as, "I've heard a lot of great stories."

How Public Opinion Has Moved on Black Lives Matter
By Nate Cohn and Kevin Quealy

How Public Opinion Has Moved on Black Lives Matter

    excerpt:

"American public opinion can sometimes seem stubborn. Voters haven’t really changed their views on abortion in 50 years. Donald J. Trump’s approval rating among registered voters has fallen within a five-point range for just about every day of his presidency.

But the Black Lives Matter movement has been an exception from the start.

Public opinion on race and criminal justice issues has been steadily moving left since the first protests ignited over the fatal shootings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. And since the death of George Floyd in police custody on May 25, public opinion on race, criminal justice and the Black Lives Matter movement has leaped leftward.

Over the last two weeks, support for Black Lives Matter increased by nearly as much as it had over the previous two years, according to data from Civiqs, an online survey research firm. By a 28-point margin, Civiqs finds that a majority of American voters support the movement, up from a 17-point margin before the most recent wave of protests began."

This is why I've always wondered why Mississippi - the POOREST STATE in the U.S. and reliably Republican - still continues to vote republican year after year. You would think that with such low incomes for decades, they'd figure that the Repubs aren't doing one damn thing for them. Right-to-work states = right to work FOR LESS states.

Quick survey: If I screw you over this year, and it costs your family income - but I TELL YOU it's better for you this way - will you vote for me?
Then next year I screw you over again, tell you it's better for you this way - will you vote for me?
Then another year & the same thing - will you vote for me?
Then another year goes by - your family is STILL poor, & I tell you that it's better for your family's economy if things stay this way - will you vote for me?
Rinse and repeat for another 10, 15, 20 years. Your family is still working for wages that were decent for raising a family back in 1980, and I tell you it's better for your family's economic future if things stay the same as they always have been - will you vote for me???

^^^^^^ That's Mississippi and a number of other "red states." Workers have NO VOICE - Chamber of Commerce controls EVERYTHING - including the VERY LOW PAY of all those folks. But those folks keep right on voting for the same people & same party - year-in & year-out - still living in relative poverty compared to progressive states. REPUBLICAN politicians' feet planted firmly on the economic throats of soooo many hard-working people ………………. but those people can't see what's been happening to them. TV shows like "Swamp People" are huge hits with them. (WTF???!!!!!!) E-D-U-C-A-T-I-O-N is the answer for those people.

Other then one of the richest cities in the US is covered in shit? Run by democrats? Other than the state that has more millionaires then any other yet cant get there fiscal shit together? Run by democrats? is there a correlation?

2020’s Most & Least Federally Dependent States

California with all its millionaires and higher population is almost as dependent on the feds as Florida and Florida has no state income tax
    CA POP nearing 40 Mil
    FL POP nearing 22 mil

    Fla Poverty level
Poverty rate in Florida dips to lowest level since Great Recession, census says
About 14 percent of the Sunshine State’s population had incomes below the poverty line last year compared with 13.2 percent in 2008.

That means between 2.8 million and 2.9 million people were living in poverty in Florida in 2017.

    https://www.usnews.com/news/best-st...-poverty-rate-stays-high-despite-improvements

The California Poverty Measure, which takes into account housing costs and cost of living, found that 17.8% "of Californians live on resources below a very basic level of well-being," Sarah Bohn, the nonprofit think tank's director of research and a senior fellow, tells U.S. News. And though not everyone is living in poverty, nearly one in five Californians are riding the line.

    so is there a correlation?
Fla is pretty staunchly rep except for palm beach county and other parts of south florida

CA is hardcore dem is there any rep base in CA?

Anecdotally Ive lived in both and CANT stand CA it was stupid expensive 20 years ago

Im not claiming ANYTHING let the shit speak for itself

"Three US Navy aircraft carriers have been deployed in the Pacific Ocean for the first time in three years, in a show of force that’s prompted a backlash from China.

The Trump administration deployed the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Nimitz to the region, with each containing more than 60 aircraft."

Beijing is in lockdown again because of a mere 150 cases in three days, the message being; even if your government is authoritarian as fuck and can control everything, there is still no chance of containing this virus

India was the first large country to just abandon the lockdown event though their hospitals in some areas are overwhelmed

As time goes on, more and more people will get that the situation in the US was always inevitable

Like he has before, Trump can make a meaningless statement that all the new and extra cases wouldn't exist if testing wasn't done.

Oklahoma coronavirus rate surges as Trump rally nears

    excerpt:

"Ali Mokdad, a creator of the model at the University of Washington, said: “Increased mobility and premature relaxation of social distancing led to more infections, and we see it in Florida, Arizona and other states.

    “This means more projected deaths.”

The Republican party has abruptly moved the main events of its August national convention from North Carolina to Florida, because of the prospect of fewer coronavirus-related restrictions there.

But Florida has seen four days in the last six of record levels of new Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile Oklahoma is among states which have reopened since late May. The Trump rally in Tulsa will be a showpiece event as the administration seeks to reopen an economy battered by the outbreak."

Florida bars and restaurants close just a week after reopening

    excerpt:

"Florida has now seen almost 76,000 Covid-19 infections since March, which include Saturday’s highest daily increase, at 2,587 new cases.

Governor deSantis denounced new coronavirus concerns on Sunday, as Donald Trump plans on staging this summer’s Republican convention in the state.

“I think it’s important for people to understand who is being tested now compared to who was being tested in March and early April when we had kind of our peaks then,” said deSantis."

Israel greenlights illegal 'Trump' settlement in Golan Heights

    excerpt:

"Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed it in 1981. The vast majority of the international community considers the move illegal under international law.

But during a visit to Washington, DC by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in March last year, just weeks before the Israeli elections, Trump changed decades of US policy by signing an executive order, officially recognising the strategic mountainous plateau as Israeli territory.

The decision, the latest in a series of US diplomatic moves benefitting Israel, was widely applauded there. It followed Trump's controversial decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocate the US embassy to the city, sparking outrage across the region."

North Korea demolishes liaison office as tensions rise

    excerpt:

"North Korea on Tuesday bombed an inter-Korean liaison office in a town on the border with South Korea in an escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean state news agency, KCNA, reported Tuesday that the office was "completely ruined."

South Korea's vice unification minister, Suh Ho, who co-headed the liaison office, said the bombing was “unprecedented in inter-Korean relations,” calling it “a nonsensical act that should have not happened.”"

Trump Formally Recognizes Israeli Sovereignty Over Golan Heights

    excerpts:

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was with Trump at the White House as he signed the presidential proclamation. Prior to the signing, Netanyahu made remarks lavishing praise onto Trump that drew comparisons between the president and the Persian emperor Cyrus as heroic defenders of the Jewish people.

"Israel has never had a better friend than you," Netanyahu said, enumerating several instances in which the administration has delivered on campaign promises favoring the Israeli leader, including U.S. withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran, restoration of sanctions on that country and the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital leading to the relocation of American embassy there."

"Syria's Foreign Ministry rejected Trump's decision to legitimize Israel's claim over the contested land, calling it "a flagrant aggression of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, turning a blind eye to all international reactions that condemned such resolution," according to an official interviewed by the Syrian Arab News Agency.

"The US president has no right or legal capacity to legalize the occupation or usurp the others' land by force... and this US hostile policy makes the region and the world subject to all dangers," the official said."
