You make statements that are very biased to one side because it puts down the other. Then you whine because it's "personal".

Maybe don't write something if you don't want to be associated with it. YOU said how you feel so YOU are the one who will be taken down a peg. You are a member of one side of this equation. No matter how you try to deny you do nothing to actuly show it. Like that side does there is a double standard of rules.

We ARE NOT going back to the 1950's - no matter what attempt to re-visit history is made. The world - especially the U.S. - is more divided and hate-filled - fueled by the divider-in-chief, Trump. I'm old enough to know that back then, people didn't act like spoiled children as they do today. Even differing political opinions were civil and not hate-filled. Trump encourages violent, hate-filled confrontation by urging on the armed hooligans to "stand up for your freedoms." WhenTrump had the chance to stand up and defend freedom, daddy got him a deferment because he had "bone spurs." And those stupid knuckle-draggers are blind and brainless enough to be Trump's political pawns!!!

So forget the nice, warm picture of a happy Thanksgiving as seen above. Trump has effectively poured gas on a simmering fire of hate and division. If this violent confrontation behavior keeps up - we'll be in a civil war soon enough - mark my words. And it isn't just Repubs that know how to shoot. Lots of blood will be shed - lots of death. This is just another repeat of history for those who refuse to learn from it ………….. so are doomed to repeat it once again.

A scripture passage from Matthew - chapter 24 vs. 6 to 13 - "You will hear of wars, and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains. How many here would say that these times are filled with love??? Or even common decency??? Or civility??? Love of our fellow man is ridiculed and made fun of. Not conforming to the "tough guy" image - yelling and barking at others with hate - is viewed today as weakness. Threatening with guns is in style these days. Sarcastic comments like, "Oh, did somebody not get a HUG today??" are prevalent these days.

The Pharisees asked Jesus what the greatest commandment is. He said, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments." DOES THE ABOVE SOUND LIKE THE U.S. THESE DAYS??

 

what you say is true, but the real reason we can't go back to the fifties is the E word- economics.

 

Trump seemingly appealed to hard scientific data at his briefing to prevent a premature reopening of states. The next day he told governors to 'make a deal' with protesters who want to end cornavirus safety measures.

Knowing that it would touch a nerve in part of his electorate, he publicly conflated gun ownership rights with the virus safety guidelines that his own administration issued, as if his own guidelines violated gun rights but that the frustration should be vented on the governors.
