Trump's handlers apparently were able to convince him to not answer questions at Friday's briefing after his disinfectant debacle that his most hardcore apologists couldn't remedy. How a media-distracted Trump ended up derailing his own briefing By Kevin Liptak and Kaitlan Collins, CNN Updated 1:02 PM ET, Sat April 25, 2020 How a media-distracted Trump ended up derailing his own briefing - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Trump and the White House spent the next 24 hours trying to rationalize the comments while health departments reminded Americans that ingesting bleach is lethal. At Friday's briefing -- at 22 minutes, the shortest since Pence got involved with the task force -- the President walked off without taking any questions. The episode, coming as the White House coronavirus task force attempts to turn the page on a generation-defining pandemic, was viewed as an avoidable disaster inside the administration, officials said. Aides said they were foiled by a leader with a penchant for thinking out loud and following his own instincts over those with expertise or specialized training."
Trump simply can't keep his mouth closed and let the medical and science community explain the facts.

In light of 52,000 U.S. coronavirus deaths and 26 million who have filed for unemployment, Trump is now relying on ragtag Tea Party revelers in battleground states like MI to try to rescue him by trying to sway public opinion to his side by revolting against the social distancing that was caused and necessitated by his botched response to the virus. Nervous Republicans See Trump Sinking, and Taking Senate With Him The election is still six months away, but a rash of ominous new polls and the president’s erratic briefings have the G.O.P. worried about a Democratic takeover. By Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman April 25, 2020 Updated 1:50 p.m. ET Nervous Republicans See Trump Sinking, and Taking Senate With Him excerpt: "WASHINGTON — President Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Mr. Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course. The scale of the G.O.P.’s challenge has crystallized in the last week. With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits, Mr. Trump’s standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even narrowly behind in must-win Florida. Democrats raised substantially more money than Republicans did in the first quarter in the most pivotal congressional races, according to recent campaign finance reports. And while Mr. Trump is well ahead in money compared with the presumptive Democratic nominee, Joseph R. Biden Jr., Democratic donors are only beginning to focus on the general election, and several super PACs plan to spend heavily on behalf of him and the party."

EVIDENCE??? You're confirming our worst stereotypes about Trump supporters--that you're a bunch of uneducated yahoos who think with your guts, like he does! Did you make it through the eighth grade?
The Republicans currently in Congress gave up their identity and placed their political livelihood in the hands of Trump. They have scant identity of their own upon which to base an alternative approach to being reelected and have little time to build such an identity before election 2020. The ones who retained any significant semblance of their own identiy have already retired.
As if the coronavirus wasn't enough punishment from Divinity for Trump, this massive object is now bearing down on the earth. If it was on a direct collision course with earth, Trump would tell everyone to just relax and it will go away. A massive asteroid is approaching Earth next week. The U.S. should consider a coronavirus recognition day to honor the dead which is now over 54,000 people and to show respect to the healthcare workers who have put themselves at risk. For those who think of themselves as patriots, it would be a noble gesture compared to protesting that their golf game has been compromised by social distancing and belittling and demoting professionals like Dr. Bright and Dr. Fauci who have devoted their careers to developing remedies to help those afflicted with viruses.
