Trump can now rage against the FDA.

Coronavirus live updates: FDA issues hydroxychloroquine warning; US passes 50K deaths; blowback against Trump on disinfectants

Coronavirus updates: Tips, disinfectants, Trump comments; Georgia news

    excerpt:

"As the nation's death toll from the coronavirus marked the grim milestone of more than 50,000 people, some businesses in Georgia were slowly reopening Friday morning.

The plan to reopen received backlash from the state's mayors. President Donald Trump also said he disagreed with Gov. Brian Kemp's decision because the state's number of cases don't meet the threshold needed to reopen under the White House's guidelines.

Also drawing a strong reaction across the country were Trump's comments late Thursday, which suggested treating COVID-19 with disinfectants, perhaps by injection, or by treating patients with "light inside the body." Health officials were quick to say the idea wasn't possible and was potentially dangerous."

Trump can now rage against Lysol.

Coronavirus updates: Tips, disinfectants, Trump comments; Georgia news

    excerpt:

"Lysol says don't ingest disinfectant after Trump's comment

The makers of Lysol, one of the nation's largest cleaning and disinfecting brands, warned the public not to inject or ingest its products as a coronavirus treatment a day after Trump speculated about another possible treatment for COVID-19: injecting disinfectants.

Parent company Reckitt Benckiser, the makers of Lysol and Dettol, said in a statement on its website Friday that it has been asked whether disinfectants are safe to use as a treatment for the respiratory virus.

"We must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route)," the company said in a statement."

I liken Trump to the pitchman in many TV commercials. The kind where the announcer warns "OHHHH NOOOOOO!" The wrong/old fashion way of doing something is always in black and white and comically overacted. The "If you call now, we'll double the offer!" line would be him suckering you in to buying his second term. "We'll throw in a MAGA hat, just for calling!"

    :confounded:

"A man in Arizona died in late March after taking chloroquine phosphate - a substance used to clean fish tanks - after Trump repeatedly talked about hydroxychloroquine. The man's wife told TV network NBC News he had been watching the president's daily briefings."

U.S. hits 50,000 deaths from coronavirus - just as many states announce plans to ease social distancing

    Updated 11:08 a.m. ET April 24, 2020

Coronavirus death toll in United States hits 50,000 as states reopen

    excerpt:

"On Friday the Johns Hopkins coronavirus database listed 50,031 U.S. deaths and more than 870,000 infections. Due to a lack of testing, the actual number of infections is likely to be much higher.

Despite warnings from national health leaders that the country could face a second wave of the virus in late 2020, states and cities are drafting or implementing plans to get people out of their homes and back into mainstream life.

"We will have coronavirus in the fall," said Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the White House's Coronavirus Task force. "I am convinced of that because of the degree of transmissibility that it has, the global nature. What happens with that will depend on how we’re able to contain it when it occurs.""

This tells you ALL you need to know about this self-aggrandizing idiot. How DARE a reporter ask him a question about his very own remarks concerning light treatment for corona virus, instead of heaping praise on him !!!

The scary part is that a lot of his base think the REPORTER was wrong to even ask the question. They suck down everything Trump says as if it were gospel. Let's see how many people inject bleach or stick a flashlight up their a$$.

It's just unbelievable isn't it. A truly mentally ill "man" has been elected to the highest office in the land! He proves he is unfit for any type of office where intellect, honesty or empathy are required every time he speaks. He is dumb, reckless, narcissistic and a true danger to this country. And yet-----seemingly without a bit of embarrassment or courage--republicans and morons still think that he is someone to revere.
Our society has been in favor of the greedy from the start of the industrial "revolution " and has only gotten worse as time has gone by. We now have gone from worse--to the worst with this pathetic excuse for a human being.

Home Alone at the White House: A Sour President, With TV His Constant Companion

    excerpt:

"The president sees few allies no matter which channel he clicks. He is angry even with Fox, an old security blanket, for not portraying him as he would like to be seen. And he makes time to watch Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s briefings from New York, closely monitoring for a sporadic compliment or snipe.

Confined to the White House, the president is isolated from the supporters, visitors, travel and golf that once entertained him, according to more than a dozen administration officials and close advisers who spoke about Mr. Trump’s strange new life. He is tested weekly, as is Vice President Mike Pence, for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The economy — Mr. Trump’s main case for re-election — has imploded. News coverage of his handling of the coronavirus has been overwhelmingly negative as Democrats have condemned him for a lack of empathy, honesty and competence in the face of a pandemic. Even Republicans have criticized Mr. Trump’s briefings as long-winded and his rough handling of critics as unproductive.

His own internal polling shows him sliding in some swing states, a major reason he declared a temporary halt to the issuance of green cards to those outside the United States. The executive order — watered down with loopholes after an uproar from business groups — was aimed at pleasing his political base, people close to him said, and was the kind of move Mr. Trump makes when things feel out of control. Friends who have spoken to him said he seemed unsettled and worried about losing the election."

Trump's wishing for packed churches on Easter was a Freudian projection of his longings for his rock star campaign rallies that were ended due to his hapless response to the coronavirus.

China Imposes New Limits as Coronavirus Fears Return
Some northern cities have reported fresh cases and put restrictions on movement, a sign of how hard it will be for China to fully recover from the outbreak.
By Paul Mozur and Steven Lee Myers

China Imposes New Limits as Coronavirus Fears Return

"The restrictions do not go as far as the lockdowns that paralyzed Wuhan, the city where the coronavirus outbreak emerged, and then spread to much of the rest of China, bringing the world’s No. 2 economy to a virtual halt. China is gradually reopening its factories and offices and lifting travel restrictions in an effort to get back to normal.

Still, the prospect of more outbreaks illustrate how daunting that task will be, both for China and for other countries.

Outbreaks could still flare up even after the worst seems to be over, dashing hopes that economies can be restarted quickly. Flare-ups could be the new normal, at least until a vaccine or other preventive measures have been developed, leading to a spate of testing and reimposing harsh social-distancing rules. Limits on crossing international borders could remain for a long time."

Like Trump, Fox has gone quiet about hydroxychloroquine.

Fox now has the opportunity to jump on the Trump bandwagon again by promoting ingestion of Lysol and irradiation of the inside of the body with UV.

Laura Ingraham called hydroxychloroquine “a game changer.” But after a month of coverage, she stopped discussing the drug on the air.

Fox News Stars Trumpeted a Malaria Drug, Until They Didn’t

    excerpt:

"For a month’s stretch, the Fox News star Laura Ingraham relentlessly promoted the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to her nearly four million nightly viewers.

The drug was “a game changer” in the fight against the coronavirus, the conservative anchor declared. She booked recovered patients to describe their “miracle turnaround” — “like Lazarus, up from the grave,” as Ms. Ingraham put it. Anyone who questioned the drug’s efficacy, she said, was “in total denial.”

“I love everybody, love the medical profession,” the host said on April 3, after listing off public health experts who questioned the cure. “But they want a double-blind controlled study on whether the sky is blue.”

But as of last Wednesday, Ms. Ingraham was no longer talking about hydroxychloroquine, and she didn’t bring it up on her show for a week."
