Senators blast Trump administration for coronavirus response

    excerpt:

"That was especially clear during a tense exchange between Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., and acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, who struggled to answer seemingly basic questions about the disease, including about its mortality rate relative to that of the flu.

At one point during their back-and-forth, which promptly went viral on social media, Kennedy insisted that Wolf tell him the number of coronavirus cases that the United States could expect."

The cartoon that depicts Trump and Kim falling for each other's gags could just as well be applied to Trump and the Taliban.

Trump-Kim cartoon: "I can't believe he fell for it."

The caption in the second cartoon should be modified to read, "Only I can stop him!!!"

Cuccinelli has been serving in two acting jobs: Acting United States Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and Acting Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

Judge Rules Ken Cuccinelli Unlawfully Appointed Head Of Immigration Agency

    excerpt:

"A federal judge ruled on Sunday that Ken Cuccinelli was unlawfully installed as the acting director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

President Donald Trump’s appointment of Cuccinelli, who also serves as the acting deputy secretary of the Homeland Security Department, violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss declared in his 55-page decision.

Policies put in place under Cuccinelli, including reducing the time granted for asylum seekers to schedule “credible fear” interviews during expedited deportation proceedings, are now void, according to the ruling.

Trump appointed Cuccinelli as head of USCIS in June last year.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

The Trump campaign’s newest plan: A swing-state blimp
The president’s team hopes to use the blimp to reach supporters and ask for their votes and donations.

The Trump campaign’s newest plan: A swing-state blimp

    excerpt:

"The idea is partly aimed at generating voter data. The blimp invites onlookers to text the word “Fly” to a Trump 2020 mobile number and join the campaign’s list of supporters. With their contact information on file, the campaign will then be able to reach out to supporters to ask for their votes and donations. The reelection effort has spent months encouraging backers to text into the number, including through a digital advertising push."

Pence says Trump Jr. 'justified' to claim Democrats hope coronavirus 'kills millions'
    William Cummings, USA TODAY
    Published 5:09 p.m. ET March 1, 2020 | Updated 7:47 p.m. ET March 1, 2020

Mike Pence defends Trump Jr., Rush Limbaugh coronavirus comments

    excerpt:

"Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday defended comments from President Trump and his supporters accusing Democrats of politicizing the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, including Donald Trump Jr.'s assertion that his father's opponents hope the disease "kills millions" of Americans.

"When you see voices on our side pushing back on outrageous and irresponsible rhetoric on the other side, I think that's important, and I think it's justified," Pence said when asked about the remarks from Trump Jr. and others on NBC News' "Meet the Press.""

OMG....everyday we see another example of the Trump, Pence, R lack of humanity. Not a slightest shred of compassion for the people who are suffering and will suffer from Corona. Trump didn’t show much concern until the stock market went into free fall. I live in Washington State and Gov. Inslee’s efforts have been on having government do what ever it takes to deal with a very real crisis, not offer cheap political shit and apply meaningless glitter.

I just got an email from the Indiana Democrat Party which describes Pence's disgusting and slow response to the HIV outbreak in this state. I heard Republicans hundreds of times saying, "So what! People die all the time!"

As long as we're giving viruses catchy nicknames (Trumpvirus! according to NYT columnist Gail Collins), how about a more accurate name: communismvirus, since authoritarian Chinese communism is responsible for this originally localized outbreak becoming a global pandemic?

It has spread in America because the Trump administration released people in Texas, California, and Washington too early. They were infected with the virus and released from care too early. Another brilliant thing Trump had done when it comes to the government ability to deal with pandemics is: Trump defunded and closed the government agency which was charged with the responsibility for such a crisis. Trump closed it because it had been created by Obama. Trump closed it because of spite. This is serious proof that Obama is a competent leader and Trump is one stupid neo-con.

Notice how Pence finally surfaces when an actual crisis arrives.

An actual press conference was conducted at the White House, the likes of which has never been seen before.

Compare that to the fake crises generated by Trump for his showboating. The administration is desperately looking for someone who can talk in complete sentences, in contrast to Trump with his insulting toddler sandbox mentality who spouts scraps of sentences, each one meandering to a different topic.

Trump also tore up the Treaty of Amity.

Trump can't stand to have any entity adjudicating him not in his favor. If he's in violation of an agreement, he tears it up.

Trump Administration Tears Up Treaty In Latest Confrontation With Iran

    excerpt:

"Hours after the United Nations’ top court said the United States was in breach of a decades-old bilateral agreement with Iran, the Trump Administration withdrew from the treaty altogether.

The reflexive decision to tear-up the Treaty of Amity, a 1955 pact that promotes ties between the U.S. and Iran, was the latest in a series of White House moves to confront Tehran.

“This is a decision, frankly, that is 39 years overdue,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday, referencing Iran’s Islamic Revolution of 1979, which overthrew the U.S.-backed government of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

The White House’s move came after the International Court of Justice’s unanimous ruling that the U.S. “must remove” any sanctions that would stop the flow of food, medical supplies and other humanitarian products that “may have a serious detrimental impact on the health and lives of individuals on the territory of Iran.”"

In addition to tearing up agreements, Trump tries to sabotage the adjudicating entities, like he has done to the WTO by not replacing officials with the intent to cripple it into uselessness and demanding that two U.S. Supreme Court members recuse themselves from cases involving Trump.

It stands to reason that Trump would tear up an entity known as the Treaty of Amity (friendship).

    'Trump' and 'amity' are self-conflicting.

    'Trump' and 'calamity' are self-consistent.
