I'm by no means saying that all doctors are bad, or that the medical establishment doesn't do any good. The criticism that I made are valid though. There just has been and continues to be a certain measure of fraud and corruption. The opioid crisis is one of the extreme examples of that.
The opioid crisis came-about when the pain became labeled as the “5th vital sign”, and “ no American should be relegated to suffer with chronic, uncontrolled pain. Doctors were trained to inquire about pain and treat it aggressively, if necessary, with “safe” opioids and adjuvant meds. As a result of the opioid crisis, the majority of doctors now refuse to treat pain appropriately, allowing unnecessary suffering. …. Total mismanagement and misguidance from start to finish.
Total bullshit !!! - I've had metal implants inserted in both hips and both knees. Due to a lung problem I can't have a general anaesthetic, so the operations were performed using a neural block known as an Epidural. I was conscious throughout all four operations, but didn't feel a thing, apart from the vibration of the bone saw and the hammering of the metal joints into place.
well …. There we have it… Vlad didn’t require opioid anagesics during his 2 hour orthopedic procedures. So, I guess he’s proposing that no one else should need them. Unfortunately, most chronic pain is neuropathic, not orthopedic … and not endured for hours, but years. Vlad, I am happy that you did not have the need for pain-relieving pharmaceuticals, but don’t close that door on others that are suffering daily.
You've misunderstood my criticism. I never said the neural blocks were not opioids, I know for a fact they were - Morphine and after the epidural was extracted from my spine several days later, I was given a bottle (300 ML) of Oromorph as part of the medicine to take home with me.
