there is a sense of urgency in the fireworks displays that is unnerving. i have this feeling like we are losing our grip on freedom in a way we havent before.

i am well and truly apprehensive about the future.

i dont know. it just feels like desperation. it feels like it might be the last independence day, until we earn it back. i have never heard/ seen so many big fireworks going off in the neighborhoods.

the politics. the election. who do you trust? can we get back to having communities? are we going to have to fight sooner rather than later? its mighty hard to fight with a baby/ toddler. and hes a screamer, so he would be hard to hide.

i just feel uncertain. and like i might have to remember what freedom feels like. and that prospect makes me angry that i even have to worry about the country my boys are growing up in.

Isn't that a good thing though, that big fireworks are being sold? Surely that's a little freedom. I remember they banned cracker week where I lived in Australia. Actually that whole country would be firework banned. It's funny though.

An American trying to live in Australia would probably feel very restricted just on guns itself. Don't have a reason to need a gun? You don't get one. It's that simple. That's a huge freedom factor to Americans. Also all crackers are or were banned in Australia. So were legal whorehouses too except not where I lived, politician city thrived on prostitution etc. yet prostitution is banned in America, yes? Or some states at least I think. I don't hear anyone complaining about lack of freedom there. Lol.

Now where I live now there is also big control on firearms. I have mine registered to a property. I get away with it because my family on the property signed away that I was allowed to use the firearm on private property. But you still need a valid reason to do this in Australia. We have that valid reason there, well not me anymore but my daddy does. That reason was vermin control. Vermin control was an easy one, too many kangaroos and rabbits and they're classified as pests really, they destroy the environment. So that was our excuse there.

Sorry I went away for half an hour and can't remember what I was trying to say...

Something about how freedom and quality of life somewhere else has a completely different feel to what freedom really is to an individual. I think that's where I was going or something.

If that isn't where I was heading then I dunno. :sifone: dunno enough to care either. :D

so finding a foot in a shoe is not too uncommon. could be nefarioous, but more likely just a drowned missing person. the shoe preserves the foot while the decay breaks down the rest of the body. eventually the ligaments and bones separate, but the foot stays half fresh in the shoe. they have to look for other bits, but its not likely that they will find them, and often they end up searching for more recent remains when they should be looking for more decayed remains.

    the more you know...

anyway. i helped change tires today. its so not hard. hubby has shown me before, as has my dad, so i knew how to do it, but its the first time ive gotten to do each of the parts. mostly because he was getting overheated and tired, he let me take over. sort of. he kept trying to help me, but i really just needed him to double check that i was doing it properly. he gives me shit calling me "muscles" when i want to do stuff on my own, but im not a sissy. i dont mind manual labor. i may look flabby, but im tough. i will make myself a hand-written reference for my glove box though. once i make it i probably wont ever need it, but it will help lock-in the information in my head. "how to change a tire" "how to use jumper cables" "how to change the oil" and "what the fuck is that noise?" a car care guide by me.

only hard part about changing a tire is remembering the order, it sucks having to put the car back down to loosen the nuts. or having to put it back up because the new tire is bigger.

well sometimes the other hard part is if the nut is on too tight.

anyway today is painting day so gonna go do the living room.

flabbier than i used to be, lol. ive never been a string bean, but ive never been unhealthy weight wise either. i definitely have a mom shape now, whereas i didnt really after having the twins. i always felt really awkward about my shape then, because i hadnt earned it, hadnt exercised for it. i just had my babies early, and had a thyroid problem that kept me thin, unable to gain weight, and risking a sudden death at any moment, because it was left untreated for 2 years. now im medicated for that, and Oz went to full term, so i got my proper mom-bod. i like it a lot. i feel good. i cant dress my new body properly yet, thats why i have a mountain of sewing to work on. im going to dress me for me. comfortable t-shirt upcycles. convertible clothing. dresses that are skirts too. tunic type long shirts. im still carrying a lot of baby weight, im at about 150 or so now. id like to drop about 20 lbs, but i had no intention of trying to lose anything for the first year. im not trying to impress anyone.

Im hella pissed right now. probably would of noticed it sooner but Ive not been using that doorway.. brand new steel door on the house has a bunch of dents in it. dents from what looks like police baton. now Im figuring out when those fucking crackhead motherfuckers across the street were involved in the drive by shooting and dumped the car in front of the house cops had to of been banging on that door. there is no other way those type of marks got there by themselves. someone is going to pay for that one way or another. idgaf.. godfuckingdamnit!!
