i think its really funny. i can't take hair bands seriously, and neo-hair bands are even funnier. good for them. i hope they bang tons of groupie chicks.
no Im not into the music, justin hawkins is dreamy with that sorta retro-70s style peter frampton look. plus I love how he sings all falsetto likea woman having an orgasm. and he does look good in those tight ass outfits. hmm come to think of it, justin is just like robert plant in that photo right above. But, he puts Plant to shame in the bulge department.
dont like em....its like they heard Queen and went "hey! I could do that!". I dont find them the least bit origional. And I dont really like their music.
awe man, you guys are too harsh, im not a hardcore fan or anything but i think they are a fun band, i mean their songs will get stuck in your head and youll be humming i believe in a thing called love all day if you heard it on the radio....i think their upbeat and i can listen to them when im in a happy goodtime mood...please just one other person admit their a fun band to listen to!!
I'm still trying to figure out why anyone WOULD like them. Some of the riffs aren't bad, but the singing is just deplorable.
Said it before, can't see the Darkness being around in a years time. One catchy tune, steadily getting worse and fading away as their 'novelty' status wears off.
as a parody on 80's hairbands they are quite good it's only entertainment. i wonder if they take themselves serious though?
Ha, sometimes The Darkness remindes me of Spinal Tap. So funny... I like "I believe in a thing called love", but the other songs they released I dindn't. But, there funny.
If they quit with the gimmickry and concentrated on their playing abilities, it would be interesting to see what they came up with... Maybe they're milking the 'image' thing for a while to build up some financial clout, so they can go on to pursue a more interesting musical direction.. ?
Very good point, Jim. It's almost as if it's all a "front", if you will. Like a very strange joke, that I don't seem to get. I guess whatever sells though. I hear they're really pretty popular in the U.K. Not so much here in the states, I have to say.
