I've heard that exercise trumps diet... That is, eating a perfectly balanced diet and getting no exercise is worse than eating junk and staying active. I suppose a faster metabolism will burn off the manufactured, processed crud instead of it being stored in fatty tissue and on artery walls.
Yep. I'm a very active person...but I need to be more active, plus I have a really big appetite. I love food! There aren't a lot of really fat people around here...we have one fast food place in a 30 mile radius. I'm a few pounds overweight, technically, but I'm healthy. Considering how much I eat, I should weigh a lot more. my husband is pretty thin (30's are too big on him, 28's are a little snug.), and he devours everything in sight. The difference is, I cook everything we eat. I control what goes into our food...it feels good knowing exactly, more or less, what you're eating. People rely too much on convenience. It's not about cost, because fresh food doesn't cost more. It doesn't. Sure, I can buy a cheeseburger and fries for $4 dollars. Or I can make a healthier, tastier version, enough to serve 5 people, for $17-$20ish, more or less. That's a little over $4 or 5 per person, right? Potatoes, $3. Tomatoes, lettuce, onions, bell pepper, jalapeno (half of this is from the garden) $5. Buns, $1-$3. Meat, $8-$10. And that's not even considering that I'm probably not going to use all of the produce in that particular meal. spending 50 cents on a bell pepper, I'll use half for one thing and half for another. Also, once you have a little bit of a stock, it's much cheaper. All you need then is odds and ends for whatever meal you want. Shopping in season helps too. Strawberries are on sale at my local grocery store for $1 per pound. It's laziness, not money that's making our nation unhealthy.
i love your post! i always wanna eat healthy, but i'm a broke college kid... so it's hard. i'm definitely gonna start buying healthy since it really is so much cheaper, and worth it!
Does anybody else recognize the irony in this thread? The OP talks about over-weight people but fails to see that eating ice cream and smoking isn't exactly a healthy lifestyle either. Hey Pot....meet kettle.
That's the biggest piece of bullshit I've heard all day. Thanks for the chuckle. I think, if I were you, I would be more worried about noticeable delusions than your flat belly. Just sayin'
OP also judges everyone else's appearance.... That's pretty subjective, maybe the OP is ugly by the rest of the world's standards?
Wendies is fucking AMAZING, and so is their bacon. Just thought I'd throw that out there. It's an example of fast food done fucking RIGHT, IMO :2thumbsup:
Nice one for bursting the nauseating self-congratulatory bubble/ego-massaging mutual masturbatory circle jerk that was this thread.
I view morbidly obese people the same way as I view alcoholics... They are most likely, depressed... they can't see the light of life anymore and just turn to eating to mask their fears... afraid of life..of pain...of hurt I can't blame them, hiding out, munching down all day... I used to be one of those people until I found the light. They need the most help man.... You need to understand these people.. even if they're filled with hate and piss, ESPECIALLY if they're filled with hate and piss. They're people though, just like you.. they just have trouble facing themselves and the world around them. They're like... the same as heroin addicts in a sense.. just trying to feed that addiction... something they rely upon.
wendys ain't out of bacon.. they cant afford bacon. bacon and tomatoes are hot commodities. the price of being a fat ass just went up with the price of cotton and shitting your pants..
We live in societies of excessive everything. From behaviours to material goods. It is hardly surprising that we also have food as excessive also. For most people it is about balance to control weight. The balance between good food choices and the appropriate amount of exercise or fitness. Easy enough to state that but for many who have weight issues it is not an easy cycle to break.
