No one can force themselves to be something else, it just doesn't happen.

actually the most recent research has started expressing that environment has nothing to do with determination of sexuality and it is mostly due to hormonal exposure (there are still some speculations about genetic causes). nothing about environment (unless you consider the chemical environment of the fetus in the womb).

for my own personal experience, I was born or had a strong genetic predisposition to be gay. I have liked guys, being around guys and enjoying looking at guys for as long as I can remember. I can also remember not being interested in girls, a few tried making out with me but I felt ill at ease being that close to them.

if it was environment, if you removed yourself from that environment would you not "lose" the gay yearnings? with all the american right winger hate toward gays, if it was environment and you could "reprogram" your self, wouldn't you?

I was a late baby, my parents were almost 40 when I was born. I am headstrong and my parents left me to my own devices. I basicaly raised myself, not to put down my parents, they were always there for me should I need help but I found my own solutions.

so environment didn't make me gay, I was born so.

I'm with Tom on this one. What I'd like to know is why people get so up tight about what other people do that basically don't have a damn thing to do with their lives. The issue should be like books ,TV or radio--if you don't like what's there--change the channel or don't read the offending material. Is it religion or disgust or? People need to mind their own biz,but of course they won't. Pretty sad what gays/lesbians have to put up with. How in the world does 2 guys ,for example, having sex in Las Vegas or Sioux Falls have anything to do with me?
