we finally had a good rain last night and it just started again...naybe the farmers will actually crack a fuckin smile today..

The storms are staying to the north here, I don't know if we will get the storm they are calling for... It's fuckin' humid out though, I just took the dog for a "swim".

 

The internet serves as a source of depression for me now. All I see is dumb people regurgitating nonsense on social media, news stories covering the latest homicides and information about impending doom due to total loss of control - whether it be financially or ecologically.

I know these things should make us feel motivated to turn our lives around, but some times it really just pushes me over this edge and I want to say fuck it, live in sin (not Christian sin, but sin as in morally devastating to the well-being of self and Earth), just enjoy the descent into oblivion and hope that I may leave a bubble for my children to live in...if I even ever have children. It's hard to imagine willingly bringing someone else in to this catastrophe.

I'm not like suicidal or anything, it's pretty evident that we are all gonna die. I just can't help but feel bad about it. And what's worse is that I don't really want to do anything about it anyways. I mean - it's really not in my hands to make much of a difference anyways.

I can plant a tree, grow a garden, ride a bike - but there comes a point where one has to realize that, beyond making yourself feel better than others, me doing all this shit really doesn't make a difference. So what if my reduced carbon saves one snail? Someone is gonna pour salt on it sooner or later.
