one time i was loading a van onto my trailer...had all the truck brakes set but the driveway was very angled ...everything started going downhill when i started loading because it took the weight off back axle lol

The new door is flush with the wall instead of at the edge of the roof. Someone had built an alcove here but the slab had settled wrong and fell away from the house. It fell evenly though and will be an incline instead of stairs. Like the front mudroom door thing I did earlier having the old shyt out at the dripline caused everything to rot away so it all had to go. There was a huge yellowjacket nest in the box above that alcove... Another reason to make it all go away.

New to me door (ReStore item) is vinyl but I didn't want it attached to the bad alcove construction, so I framed it flush and added the arbor/pergola/thingy. Still have to put the redwood siding up above and install the lights on each side of the doors. There will be tempered glass between those Cedar beams on top... That comes last. This way it's all going to be out of the elements and the area will stay dry... Cedar beams are set at the same angle as the slope of the roof, looks really cool from all angles as you walk around the structure...

The oaks are still green... They go brown after the first frost. Some will keep their leaves until spring. The rest drop in about a week, one hell of a mess to clean up. The maples are still green, they should turn brilliant orange soon. Walnuts have already dropped their leaves. The Ginkgo outside my bedroom is turning yellow.


It's getting there...



I got a lot of firewood to cut down and process, mostly dead Ash trees.

the maples here are mostly empty ...my oak is shedding ...but its a weird tree a lot of the leaves stay on until the new ones push them off in the spring

my neighbors has a slightly different oak that is in better shape (mine is starved due to pavement)..the neighbors tree holds onto its leaves until very late after a few snowfalls..that one is still full and theres a very busy black squirrel collecting the acorns 24/7
