The Carter III

  1. So what is so legendary about this intro song....

He should start hiring ghostwriters again, like his last few albums, at least then his songs were coherant, these are just ridiculous...

    I rest my case

if anyone can explain to me in detail what he's talking about in track 14 (playing with fire) on the carter III, i will then respect your opinion about wayne.

anyway, i thought that carter III was great. there were a few songs i didn't like or that grew old pretty quick, but generally speaking it was a great album. he adjusts to the beat better than most lyricists that i can remember.

I wouldn't call Lil Wayne hiphop the way I call Talib hiphop.
Lil Wayne's version is the commercial, mainstream shit that gets played in clubs - and that's what it is good for - dancing.

Obviously if you aren't into that scene then the music won't appeal to you as much.
If you aren't in that scene (I'm looking at you Johnny Bopper, the 15 year old suburban freshman) and you still listen to it cause it is "good" you have no taste in hiphop.

I can appreciate Lil Wayne for what it is (garbage - but music none-the-less). I do enjoy dancing to it, cause it is upbeat - however, to listen to his music as lyric heavy and "deep" is just idiotic.

He raps about not writing any of his music - that's sad.
If you like that uptempo, fast-paced music but want a lyric heavy artist, you just have to look for it...It is out there (Charles Hamilton <- there, start your GOOD music appreciating journey)
