Immigrant 'caravan' heading to US-Mexico border sparks Trump's concern - CNNPolitics Immigrant 'caravan' heading to US-Mexico border sparks Trump's concern I can't help but wonder how this will play out. In the article these people are planning to claim refugee status and beg for asylum when they reach the US border. After walking hundreds of miles through Mexico, a country providing them with protection and resources to make this trek. It reminds me of the same thing that has happened in Europe with the flood of "refugees" from the middle east and north Africa. I am really curious to know why anyone thinks this is a good thing for either side of the earth. Or is this something else? Maybe Americans simply "deserve" this? At least this time it's not a collection of unescorted children being smuggled in and handed over to God knows who.
immigration is not some new and outrageous concept. I'm sure the people whose ancestors came in the 1600 - 1700s looked down upon the hordes of people who came in the 1800 - 1900s too but those people eventually became part of the fabric of America as well and now their descendents feel American enough to look down upon the new flow of immigrants. Humans are migratory creatures and have a long, long history of fleeing bad situations in search of a better life. It is neither good or bad, it is just reality.
Leading with hate, tsk tsk. There's one in every crowd. So, how about we pull into THIS century. There is nothing that can be fixed in the previous centuries, all those people are gone now.
