i pick by what i can guess about subject matter. if its as mundane as most things are, well i have very limited surplus for entertainment.
so yah, for me its not exactly the title, but really if it doesn't have non-humans of some kind in the title and other major roles, why bother?

 

Funny thing is i think you have the type of personality that would dig the movie

2001 is 50 fricken years old this year, 1968

Other movies that came out on 1968 thus are 50 bloody years old this year:

dark crystal was later, i forget what year, early 80s i think (only movie i ever saw more then twice in a movie house, and collected all the stuff the went with it)
glass managery was the pilot for star trek, which of course was way earlier, 62 maybe? i wasn't sure of the dates on any of those.

the second apes movie had an interesting architectural setting.
