If you read closely you can see that the Bible has been written and re-written to trick the people into obeying a non-existent "god", paying their taxes, and following the government.

It may have originally been intended for good things, but it's been twisted into a book of slavery

it is the word of a handful, minus a thumb, of scribes who knew someone who was a channeler of something and got killed for it. at least one part of it is. although the biggest part of it seems to be the work of a marketer who popularised the name, al beint at some considerable personal risk to himself, namely saul of tarsus i'm speaking of here, of what those scribes had witnessed or claimed to have. although another big part of it is what is again pruported to be the prequil to those supposed events.

i'm not quite clear as to what is supposed to be accomplished by EITHER bashing or praising it. even this earth, let alone the rest of the universe, is so full of so much else, i really see no point, other then massochism, of dwelling on it at all.

i'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with a real spirituality, only with substituting the pretence of it, as embodied by such works, for the real and genuine article.

there is a good spiritness in all of belief. just as there is also a harmfulness in the delusions taking the outwardness of their words litteraly can lead to.

I have read it a few times, being raised in a christian school I have even had to memorize parts of it. I think it is a scary scary horrible book and its purpose is to make people fearful. Just my opinion, that is what you asked for. I don't really care what anyone else thinks, read it if ya want, then you can form your own opinion. :)

Careful with modern Bibles! I hear some printers ink might make the 'word' a bit toxic if smoked, as re-cycled waste oil is used in its manufacture.

You are incorrect about the assumption that it is translated from the same texts. Plus, any translation from the original text will have variations, depending on the translator. For example, Dante's Inferno has been translated and re-translated and none of the copies are exactly alike.

Plus some sects of Christianity include gospels and readings left out by others.

    Peace and love
