i didnt check if anybody said it but definetly watch Waking Life.... the whole time the guy is dreaming and just walking around talking philosophically about the mind, dreams, and life to total strangers. plus really trippy animation/camera effects

The Fountain has some wonderful themes, and is beautifully directed as well. Though following the storylines might be difficult, I would imagine the beauty of it wouldn't be able to help but shine through on any psych.

Pan's Labyrinth, hands down. Make sure you can handle it though, there IS one scene that is amazingly frightening, but at the end you are so relieved and you can see how everything was necessary to happen for her journey.

death by wind bottle is NOT a pleasant scene, even sober. Possibly one of the most disturbing few seconds in cinema that I am aware of.

I know nesta wants psychedelic movies, but I thought I'd point out Walk Hard is a REALLY good movie for the comdown of an acid trip, even though its a comedy its got a very good storyline and I connected to the lsd part well (well atleast him jumping on the trampoline for 4 days straight, reminds me of all of last summer dropping acid chillin on my trampoline for a good portion of the trip.) very underrated movie good tripping or sober, but if you've never watched it save it for the comedown of a trip, very fun times.

In an interview with the brothers they addmitted that many insights and ideas for the movie came from LSD.

Imagine the computer world the world we live in. And the real world is what you get passing the psychedelic threshold

    Akira Kurosawa's 'Dreams'.
Vibrantly colored surrealistic landscapes, and a bizarre array of dream-like stories. One of the highlights is when a man enters a Van Gogh painting and walks around the trippy cornfields and streets.

just wanted to revive this thread to add a few that came to mind.

a new film by jim jarmush titled "the limits of control"...epic, a must for any acidhead. "how the fuck did you get in here? ...i used my imagination"

    expiriemental films:
un chien andalou, surrealistic film by dali. quite strange.

the films "lucifer rising" and "scorpio rising" by kenneth anger. also quite surreal but worthy of a mention.
