http://dmbeatles.com/disk.php?category=2&id=65 ummm, yeah--and the "I Am The Walrus" is the same version according to that site, the other take is available on record on Anthology
lolz yeah! I don't know what I can really say about them that hasn't already been said. They're amazingly talented, creative, and are without a doubt, the greatest rock band of all time.
You'd like "The Beatles Live At The BBC" which goes back to the Beatlemania era. It's the Beatles "live" in the studio, over several sessions.Plenty of originals, and several cool cover songs that were never released on official LP's.2 disc set.
They are just the top of creativity, melody, rhythm , talent etc . They are just my favorite band, i love all of their songs except maybe Revolution 9 ..
Thanks, Bluesbilly Dave. I'll check it out. Burby, here's what's on the back cover of the album: "Capitol has created a new version of this song by combining the two rarest versions. Previously, there were at least three versions. The shortest one is the most common in the US because it appears on the stereo album. The other two versions both have something extra in them. The Capitol US single has a few extra beats in the middle of the song right after the words "I'm crying" but before the words "Yellow matter custard". The stereo version from England has the intro riff repeated six times instead of four. Now these two oddities have been edited together for the first time. It is interesting to note thaton every stereo version of this song ever released the song becomes "fake stereo" almost exactly two minutes into the tune with the bass predominantly on one channel and the high on the other". So there. Hah. I win. Sorry...this argument is SO incredibly trivial...
I've always enjoyed the studio bootlegs.. and various sessions like those for the white album at George's gaff.. If only I could remember where I had all mine stashed.. I downloaded them years ago.. when Napster was free and at it's peak..
Do you know that about a year before George died a crazed fan broke into his house and stabbed him????!!!!! That's fucked up.
I dig the Beatles. Favorite album: Let it Be Favorite Songs: Here Comes The SUn, Rocky Racoon, Dig A Pony, Let it Be, Come Together, Helter Skelter, Norwegian Wood, Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds, and Happiness is a Warm Gun. Helter Skelter is my altime favorite.
I completely agree. I did know, but I had forgotten. How can anyone like that be called a fan. People disgust me sometimes.
Pfff! I realise that there are a great many Beatles threads, but The Beatles deserve a great deal of recognition. The fact that there are billions of Beatles threads in the Music forum was simply inevitable.
look, everybody (or the most of people) loves the beatles... so it's ok. Nothing against threads about some facts from life of Beatles, or so, but those stupidities as "who's your fav Beatle" or "do you like them".. yay!!! Those are really fucking stupid... Sorry about it, but I'm not in that good mood... You know... so..
I think "Do you like The Beatles" is not so much a question prompting yes-no answers, but rather a prompter for a Beatle-related discussion.
I love them. Love all their music. Period. Me and my band are doing an anniversary performance of the rooftop concert this January, if we can find someone to let us play on their roof
