The Alawites are an Islamic Shia sect with belief in reincarnation. They identify themselves as a separate ethno-religious group.

The Alawites live mainly in Syria , Turkey, Lebanon and have a population of around 3 million.

Alawites hold that they were originally stars or divine lights that were cast out of heaven through disobedience and must undergo repeated reincarnation before returning to heaven.

Yes, Inayat Khan, Meher Baba and Shirdi Sai Baba were sufis who had taught reincarnation as part of their teachings.

The souls could be of other planets and extraterrestrial civilizations.

There was a member over here who stated that he felt that he had lived in an another planet in a past life which was more peaceful and unpolluted.

In one of Dr. Brian Weiss's books , there is a case study of a patient of his who regressed to an alien being from a past life during past life regression.

The Brahmakumaris states that all souls originally reside in an incorporeal place called Param Dham or Soul World with God, and each soul leaves the Soul World and incarnates on earth to play their part in the cosmic drama, as per a certain timeline. So not everyone incarnates at the same time. This is also a possible explanation for the increasing number of souls.
