When even a 10 year old recognizes you waste a lot of words that only detract from intelligent conversation, that should tell you something.

Good luck in learning to communicate in a meaningful way with your grandson.

I guess the 2nd amendment has run the course in this thread, and it would appear that as with most political issues there is no single answer acceptable to all.

So you're taller than a ten year old. Nothing to be sorry about, he'll grow.

I take it your finished with the 2nd amendment, so if you have no more to say on the topic, I'll leave you to have the last word and I won't bother to respond to it.

Oh how sad! A NASCAR fan shoots himself in the head at the NRA 500. Who could have seen that coming?

The NWO wants everyone to have lots of guns, so Armageddon can happen.

I agreed with him for a while.

I totally agreed with him when that fucker was sticking the sign in his face.

But no, he's not listening. It's a moot point because NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT TAKING HIS GUNS. (maybe some are, and they have NO bearing on the actual direction of anything) The discussion is about background checks (pretty basic, senators of both parties have had ratings plummet, for refusing to do the will of the people to keep NRA money, or at least not be on the NRA's political hit list) and (POSSIBLY, SLIGHTLY) limiting the types of new guns that can be purchased, or the ways or places they can be purchased.

So, what the hell is he talking about? And what they hell are THEY talking about? It's a screaming match between a group of totally obnoxious people (many of whom are probably obnoxious extremists) and one totally obnoxious extremist. Meh?

I mean, the disorder IS fun.... but I got bored and stopped watching half way, when both of them showed themselves quite incappable of having a real conversation.

If you didn't even watch the entire video, I don't think your argument about it has any bearing.

As far as what you say they are advocating.. how will we know? The entire point is that he was challenging anyone and everyone to tell him how this will be instituted, and nobody could articulate.

Background checks my ass. The ultimate agenda of these types is quite clear. We already have a background check system in place. I have had a check run every single time I purchased a gun.

Sad story. But this is what happens when idiots have kids. I was shooting at 5 or 6, but there sure as shit were not guns left in the corner of a room.

So, because of some idiot in Kentucky, that somehow justifies stripping MY rights? Please explain this to me.

    Of course not.

But it shows how out of control some of the "pro gun" stupid is. You think they're idiots, so why not make a clear stand about that sort of stupid?

If you've always had background checks, why are you worried about background checks? I realize the private sale thing is touchy, I want to be able to buy and sell guns amoung friends, but at the same time, any idiot can see how easy a loophole it is, and you say it has never even had anything to do with your purchase, anyways....

What do you mean about these types? In that video, yeah, they're nuts, they're like the anti-nra, which is no better than the nra. But america, overwhelmingly and then some, with numbers that show it must include many or most gun owners, WANT UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS.

I didn't watch the rest of the video, because he was using a bullhorn to repeat semi-nonsensical stupidity, and obnoxious harpies where chanting nonsensical insanity at him, and then him and one of the harpies pretended to have a conversation, but it was the exact same thing..... I gave up, it was a waste of time to watch.

    Stupidity crosses all barriers..

I'm worried about Obama's 'background checks', because it actually creates a federal list, which will lead to federal registration, which will lead to confiscation. Or an attempt at confiscation, rather.

And honestly, I don't think it is too absurd to ban private sales at gun shows. Which would be very very easy to enforce, and would cut out a major outlet for people who wouldn't pass the nics to get guns. I'm sure 100% of the people planning a shooting rampage are too pussy and socially inept to deal with street sales.

But that still will not stop anyone.

This whole thing is such a joke to me, all you federalists are doing is pissing off good americans. You know, the ones who would be protecting this place if we get invaded or if someone is trying to kill another person.

There's far greater threats to america from whithin, than from invasion.

I mean, unless north korea invades texas, like they threatened to, if I recall right.

I agree that a federal list needs to be avoided. Not because I think anyone will confiscate anything, but because I think just about any list of names is bad, in the hands of the feds. There are infinite ways to misuse it, and there are basically no checks left on what they can read from where, or what bullshit a judge will sign if they show that in addition to some bullshit, you're also a gun owner (which shouldn't change shit).

So yeah, I don't want a federal list either, which is a big part of why I'm not sure about background checks on private sales. I agree that private sales at gun shows should be banned, I think gun shows should simply be the same as buying a gun anywhere else, though of course that makes it less of a business oppertunity for dealers there, because impulse purchases are less fun.

All that aside, it IS something that a huge supermajority of americans want, including a LOT of gun owners. I'd guess that the line falls pretty clearly on the NRA membership line.
