I have my doubts Trump will last the full 4 years. He could be assassinated, die on his own, or be removed when his dementia becomes too severe. Then we'd have J.D. Vance as president, and hopefully he'll go back to his old "Trump is Hitler" ways.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Vance 25th Amendment-izes Trump in the limo on the way to the White House after his coronation and drops him off at the locked unit of an obscure nursing home at some remote undisclosed location, never to be heard from again. However, Vance owes his soul to oligarch Peter Theil, who bankrolled Vance's congressional campaign and believes that democracy is incompatible with capitalism and everything went to hell when women got the right to vote. Vance is a deeply misogynistic Christo-Fascist himself, who believes that marriage is rightly a matter of male-dominated chattel property rights, but more importantly, Vance is a craven opportunist. If it wasn't for Fascists like Theil, MAGA, and the Heritage Foundation, he'd still be back in Upper Buttcrack Ohio peddling reverse home mortgages, instead of having gone from an anonymous candidate for freshman congressman to Supreme Ruler of the Universe in 18 months. What he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in venality; Vance is a consummate sock puppet, and so far puppetry is paying pretty damned well. Don't expect him to bite the many hands that feed him; he'll ride the Project 2025 gravy train as long as he can. Trump has frequently waxed loquacious about this being the last election you'll ever have to bother to vote in, and Vance is only 40 years old. Even in the incredibly remote chance that democracy is somehow miraculously resurrected from the dead, Alito and Thomas are eligible for retirement. Vance will be able to appoint at least two SCOTUS justices (and a slew of federal judges) his age with the Heritage Foundation's '100% Fascist' seal of approval, who with Trump's Kangaroo Court will skew the judiciary to the ultra-Far Reich for fucking generations to come, and there's not a goddamned thing you or I can do about it. Even the best-case scenario is utterly catastrophic. As it is, I fully expect that when I die of old age Vance will still be Führer.

I've been trying without success to resist the notion that since half of the electorate stupidly couldn't be bothered to vote, and a quarter of the electorate chose, with premeditation and malice aforethought, to brutally murder constitutional representative democracy and bury her in a shallow unmarked grave along a dirt road rather than vote for a Colored Woman, America deserves everything we're about to get.

No, we need to look at what really happened…and it’s not what the Democrats did wrong. Across the country T overwhelming won white male rural America. Two big problems.

First there are real problems out there. Health care has fled rural areas driven by large healthcare corporations and a doctor shortage. Thanks AMA. Then there’s dearth of food stores and retail stores as a result of unchecked monopoly.wonder why prices are so high? And a big money propaganda machine that would put the Nazis to shame has convinced people the problem is not enough capitalism and you guessed it democracy.

And we have not really dealt with male dominance and racial discrimination. As if our efforts since 1970 could have fixed it. Reverse discrimination….hah. The.other take away from the election is a really misogynistic organization like the Republican Party gained traction by ugly immoral ads denigrating women. shame.

If this Nation is to survive it really needs to come to grips with the widespread discrimination that is ongoing. Look at a map of Wisconsin the only counties Harris won are Milwaukee, Dane and a few counties where there is large Indian population or Black presence…. WTF. I grew up in a house with a racist, women hating father. Every day I heard the very same crap T and the Rs have been spewing 70 years ago. Word for word.

 

Trump made a lot of promises and convinced a lot of people to vote for him. He had better not let these people down. Apparently it would take a lot to convince these people they've been let down, but if Trump tanks the economy, or if his mass deportations turn into an expensive clusterfuck, or if he tries to push through Project 2025 then the backlash would be severe.

 

I just feel sick.

The saddest part is, so many people that voted for him don't even know the basic facts about the policies he is promoting. Knowledge is power, ignorance is bliss, they have given away all their power so they can feel happier with their choices.

 

Dunno..... Perhaps living in a Blue place I've received some unearned benefit without having to vote for it.

Family has spoken positivly about the benefits of Massachusetts.

But please lets not get carried away. The results carry many messages.
