Shit! Piss! Fuck!! N.Y. appeals court reduces Trump's bond in his civil fraud case to $175 million, a victory for the former president
Well, can you pay this amount? Uh, no. How about this amount?.. Well, no. This? No. That? No way. Well since they changed the amount, he'll get another few weeks to screw around.
Oh Wow, if this couldn't hold.......... Weinstein Sex-Crimes Conviction Thrown Out by New York High Court The court ruled disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein didn’t receive a fair trial, ordering new proceedings in landmark #MeToo case.
Haven't posted in here in a while. News these days is on Trump's current trial and not on his campaign. He manages to squeeze in a rally here and there on his days off from the trial, repeating phrases like "crooked Joe Biden", "witch hunt", "rigged election", and "migrants and inflation". I'm concerned that he's leading in a lot of polls and I hope he's found guilty and faces severe penalties, in the hope that it turns voters against him, though with Trump's history it just may unite his base more than ever. Between now and November Joe Biden needs to beat inflation, secure the border and help mediate an end to the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel. Independent voters pick a candidate based on results, and while Biden has helped ease a lot of problems (most caused by Trump!), these issues are making people question whether he's a good leader. They forget that Trump was a gawdawful president and would be even worse in a 2nd term.
That was January 2024. In March 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Trump can stay on the ballot in all states (because he might incite an insurrection if he's kept off the ballot for inciting an insurrection). Even worse, in April 2024 the Supreme Court said it would consider giving Trump immunity from crimes (because he might commit crimes if he's not allowed to commit crimes). A ruling is expected by the end of June 2024.
In the April hearing, Justice Alito (who hung the U.S. flag upside-down on his house in frustration because of Trump's failed insurrection) claimed that, without immunity, Trump might commit crimes to stay in office (like he did with his insurrection) out of fear of being prosecuted for crimes he committed while president (like mounting an insurrection to steal the election from Biden to stay in office). The obvious flaw in Alito's claim is that Trump would commit crimes to stay in office if he has immunity, not just consider committing crimes if he doesn't have immunity.
