Not bad. By the way, I actually own those. I didn't download any of them. That's not a bad list, but they missed some and included some that probably shouldn't have been (according to my tastes).
some essential albums missing: the beatles - the white album the beatles - abbey road the beatles - rubbers soul the 13th floor elevators - easter everywhere beach boys - pet sounds the byrds - sweetheart of the rodeo rolling stones - beggar's banquet the sonics - here are the sonics!!! the kinks - the village green preservation society the kinks - arthur the kinks - something else by the kinks nick drake - five leaves left the incredible string band - the hangman's beautiful daughter the united states of america - the united states of america the velvet underground - white light/white heat the golden dawn - power plant ... also, no albums by bob dylan (!) and leonard cohen. the maker of this list also doesn't know how to write psychedelic, and the electric prunes and the soft machine never released a self-titled album. And why did he include unimportant albums such as the beach boys' 'smiley smile', the count five's 'psychotic reaction', the charlatans self-titeld album and bonzo dog band's 'urban spaceman'? The list is also too mainstream (what the hell is the rascals' 'greatest hits' doing there?) but it is positive that the west coast pop art experimental band, the beau brummels, captain beefheart, tomorrow, fairport convention and the pretty things are included in the list. overall the list is ok, but it's far from definitive...
Well done Skelter, I was astounded that the White album was missing from the list. The ones that I would add are From Elvis in Memphis Elvis 68 comeback Every Beatle album is essential.

Maybe they're in the 70s, instead of the 60s, but weren't the Moody Blues also innovative? And what about the Flying Burrito Brothers?
NO DYLAN! Highway 61 Revisted, BLonde on BLonde?? those 2 albums are in my humble oppinion worthy of the top 100 essential albums from the late 60s if not in the top 10 essential albums.
They're #55 Also this list came from my new book Rhino's Phychadelic Trip. Here's what 1 of the writers said about how it was chosen:"Here is a list of the 100 albums that best reflect the era under discussion in this book. They are bounded more by a period of time-the latter half of the 60's-& the years 67/68 in particular-than the term phychadelic. That is to say, they have more to do w/enlightened music-making & widened horizons than w/a narrowly defined sound (typified by fuzztone & wah-wah, "raga rock," side-long epics, lyrics about "the canyons of your mind," ect.). All the same, you won't find Bob Dylan or Aretha Franklin here because they weren't, um, phychadelic enough for this particular list. In the context of their times, each of these albums rewarded multiple listenings in a variety of settings, from contemplative still life (boy at his lave lamp) to communal frenzy (strobe lights flashing & stoned bodies grooving wildly). They still hold up as music & as artifacts of an era when music mattered more than you can believe or imagine." So there you go.
Yellow Submarine contains Hey Bulldog and Its all too much, and Let it be contains Two of us, The long and winding road, Ive got a feeling, One after 909 and Across the Universe......They`re essential.
Hahahaha, it may hve been me as I can't look at a book & computer screen at the same time Btw folks, I added 1 on vynal: After Bathing at Baxters today as well as I Got Them Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!
