it appears to me that "Oh God!" and "Oh Crap!" are the same in meaning.

Shouldn't it logically follow that God = Crap?

 

oh god means something like "oh god preserve me and vaporize whatever is going to hurt me"

oh crap means "oh john crapper, I beg you and your porceline army to come to my aid"
