It might be something you didn't think much of at the time, or pretended not to notice, but there's always that first moment you remember with someone who later turned out to be odd.
I'm pretty sure everybody is "odd" in one way or another... It's the batshit crazy ones you have to watch out for.
Travelling around the globe I certainly did meet people like that! Several come to mind. The odd can be a blessing... or the opposite. Sometimes they oddly attract you, and others you find oddly repellant. Sometimes you meet someone you think is awful, but upon closer inspection is actually a gem. Sometimes the gem you found is a little bit rough about the edges. It's all part of the human experience and is endlessly fascinating.
My weidometer has never been very sensitive, I almost never think that about anybody. If anything, it's the seemingly completely normal people who I tend to think are secretly odd/hiding something etc.
Some reasons??? Not making enough eye contact? Weird. Standing too close? Weird. Speaking in a monotone voice? Weird. Has fidgety, antsy mannerisms? Weird. Was asked a question where people normally give a canned response and said something out of left field instead? Weird. Disclosing too much personal information at a time when it's not appropriate? Weird. Brought up a gross subject during a staff meeting? Weird. It's five in the evening and his hair looks like he just got out of bed? Weird. Seemed really uncomfortable and stammered out two-word reply when I said hello? Maybe just shy, possibly weird as well. Being really quiet? Again, many people could see this behavior as a sign of shyness, but some would label it as weird too.
I have a dear friend who's a bit "off" at times but she's medicated, and the nicest person you'd ever meet. My first experience was seeing her one day lying on the living room floor in her underwear with crayons and a coloring book. She's in her late 40s.
You're right about that. Have you ever tried to find somebody in a busy public place with everyone wearing masks? SOB. I took a buddy along to the casino the other night. When I was ready to go I couldn't find him for the masks everyone looked the same.
