you know when there's that one certain part of a song that makes you feel like the musician wrote the part specifically for you? that one piercing guitar riff with the perfect tone that delves into your psyche and makes you shiver? its when the song peaks and tears come into your eyes. or the intensity is so high that it feels like you could be ripped apart by the perfection of the notes.. just my random thought... i love that feeling more that most other feelings in the world.. like the epic guitar solo in "comfortably numb" (GUITAR TONE!!!! WOOO!! OH MAN) the song "and you and I" by Yes. Jimi hendrix on acid (yes, i said it.) the mars volta "scabdates" album i could go on. happines.
I have always felt that David Bowie's entire purpose in life was to write great music for me to hear.
I think that's when a musicians is really connected to the those listening. The thoughts, ideas and emotions flowing back and forth, in a timeless moment of infinite love, or someting like that.
And you and I climb, crossing the shapes of the morning. And you and I reach over the sun for the river. And you and I climb, clearer, towards the movement. And you and I called over valleys of endless seas. I cry every time I hear it I also cant hold back tears during the break down towards the end of Gates Of Delerium off their Relayer album. Beautiful stuff, glad to know that Im not the only person our age listening to this. To be honest, I actually have a tattoo on my left arm of a girl smoking a joint sitting on a YES logo that I drew up and had the guy put it on me
