I’m unsure what is meant by this

Is it suggesting that battering a wife is ok?

So if a woman doesn’t testify against her attacker does that make the attack OK?

And if anything doesn’t the Republican Party seem more like the battered wife that is in thrall to its attacker?

I mean Trump is doing a lot of damage to the US political system and wreaking havoc on the Republicans

As an outside observers why wouldn’t we be concerned for the US and I for one am worried about the impact on the Republican Party (I mean many battered wife certain long term injuries and some get murdered).

Remember the US is a two party system having one party seriously injured or coming to an end would have a destabilising effect on US politics and could even cause a dangerous vacuum
