finnaly a half decent post, i applaud you.

first, i say the states manufacture athletes because of money, money can buy anything, steroids to improve performance, research, facilities, it's all about resources, with unlimited resources u have unlimited potential, there are lots of countires with a much larger population than the states, but with no money come no medals.

Throwing money at nations other than the US is not a new thing, US funded osama binladen and alqueda(sp) funding terror groups doesnt seem to be a very good way of distributing funds among nations is it? and the states trying to "fix" itself by spending money on a internal problem ie. war on drugs is rediculous, might as well throw money down the toilet, Nations are bankrupt while the states are spending money on getting crack heads methadone.

and yes, terrorist influence on the states is almost a win win situation, the states, causing terror warning of the so called "terrorists" themselves can easilly expand into other counties providing protection.

it's funny you dont mention "civilians" when u say millions of japanese and americans. So it's ok to kill what most likely was 60 thousand innocent people rather then maybe 100 thousand Soldiers who were there to fight in the first place?

whats the difference with nazis trying to prove they are superior or the states? all it is is a show of a nations power and strength.

It is hard to take you seriously with your lack of grammar knowledge. The states do not manufecture any bloody athletes, they just fund thier athletic programs much better. There are private owners and investors, which keep high money rolling in the industry. No one needs better steroids, steroids are illigel in profesional sport anyhow. No, there are not alot of countries with a much larger population. The only two countries which have a strong sports program, and have a larger population than the US are China and Russia. Both countries are doing rather well in the Olympics. These countries just do not have the climate and cultural divirsity that the Us has, not allowing them to participate in certain sports. This is why they have less athletes.

Yes, the US funded Osama while Afgahnistan fougt against the Soviet Union. It was a logical move, at the time, proving that most political moves were based on an unlogical idea (communist scare), yet, considering that the idea was percieved as true, the move was very logical. You are still not adressing my point, my point is that the US are better off spending money on the country itself, then on foreign nations. Are you as ignorant as to think that the war on drugs is the only large scale US internal campaign?

A win/ win? It is never a win/ win situation when innocent people are dying in the way. No matter how power hungry the president is; in a Democracy, the people themselves, Congress, etc woud not support the death of their own civilians. Do not be so ignorant as to think that the president makes all the constitutional decisions in the US.

Drug testing buddy, steroids dont make a difference at the olympics, and the only nations with alrger population then the US are China and India, and China is in second place in terms of medaling, and they both have adequate training facilities.

your covering 8 different topics at once and not relating them, but we never gave any resources to Al Quiada, and we gave money to Bin Laden to fight the soviet union in Afghanistan.

i'm only implying that terrorists are "helping" the world in stopping the spread of american influence more than if there was not terror in the world, if there was nothing to keep the states occupied thats when i'll become scared.

and finnaly somone who agrees with me somewhat, my basic jist of the whole opinion was that americans are very similiar to the terrorists, and yes killing is wrong, but the states are the ones who most of the time fund and begin the bloodshed.

WW2 was war DJ... civilians die in war, and tens of millions would have dies in the invasion of Japan. Hiroshima was a major industrial district and it was a strategic spot for a bombing, and accomplished the goal set forth, perhaps saving millions.

What wrong with a nation having pride? And you have to understand the difference betwen the US competing with other nations in the spirit of friendship and the Nazi's competing to prove the supremacy of their race and propagate their extermination of millions and propaganda to deceive the public.

US foriegn policy is wrong - supporting terrorists and suggesting that they help alter/dimish these wrongdoings is foolish. The actions of terrorists only feed the US machine. It is a brutal cycle. The US governemt and terrorists are both wrong. However, the more productive thing to do is to utilize the very little democracy that is left in the US to try and change US policy. If not only the US government, but its people do their collective parts to stop raping the world and redirect the same energies towards helping this world - terrorism will end and PEACE will be REAL.

it actually wasnt a very logical idea considering most had already dismissed the domino thoery at that time the states were funding binladen, and i'm sure at the time they also knew communism could not last.

here's a interesting article i just found on islamic jihad:

"In a cruel irony, while the Islamic jihad --featured by the Bush Adminstration as "a threat to America"-- is blamed for the terrorist assaults on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, these same Islamic organisations constitute a key instrument of US military-intelligence operations in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union.
In the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, the truth must prevail to prevent the Bush Adminstration together with its NATO partners from embarking upon a military adventure which threatens the future of humanity."

not unlike napolean or hitler. i could go on forever with comparisons between germany and the US, but that is not what this is about.

Anyone else think this is too political for random thoughts? I don't mind getting all political, but random thoughts should be about how many toaster related accidents there are each year, or what a fucking fox Ashley Banfield is... now that political.

No, the war against Afghanistan was at the peak of the domino theory, after it ,the theory collapsed with the change of presidency.

That article is just as pointless as it is one-sided.

Comparisons between Germany and the USA?

Where is the one race genocide? Where is the power hungry, unexplained expansionism? Where's the dictator? Where's the lack of Democracy? Where's the brain washing that made all of the country support a dictator?

Germany was internationaly opposed, the US is not. The US is not trying to practice imprialism. I disagree with the invasion of Iraq, but it wasn't out of the hunger for power or land. This is not Hitler, this is not Napoleon.

u dont think america has propaganda? during comercial breaks for the olympics running "join the army" comercials and many other which mask whats happening in countries around the world occupied by the US.

and please i really doubt the invasion into japan would cost "millions" of US lives considering they only lost just over 500,000 during the course of the whole war.

This is the first good thread I have seen in Random Thoughts in a while, please do not spoil it with that comment, which will invite the brainless souls that visit here to post pointless crap like "Hehehe, I agree".

and digitalldj, you did not address my first point about the athletes, address it, or admit defeat.

An invsaion of Japan could have lead to a full scale Asian opperation by the US. IT would have taken months, maybe even years. Millions of lives would be lost, the Japanese are known to fight to the death.

Ofcourse the US has government propoganda, just like every other country in the world.

Well there may be a little propaganda here, but I think if your comparing our politics to the 1936 nazi charade proves you really lack scope on the argument, and are just saying nazi 'cause its a hot button.

Maybe not millions of US lives, but lives overall, the japanese would have fought 'til the bitter end, and the A bomb saved many many lives that would have been lost in an invasion.

Where is the one race genocide? - Jews to the nazis are what blacks were to americans, it's a much much lesser extent, but still compareble, a lack of tollerance and knowledge led towards discrimination.

Where is the power hungry - Bush is not power hungry?

unexplained expansionism? - no comparison really except troops and other americans ocupying countries which they have no right to be in

Where's the dictator? - kind of hard to have a dictator in a democratic society, but in a way bush could be considered one, although the goverment is controlled by more than 1 person, but even in communist states the dictator still has assistants.

Where's the lack of Democracy? it's a democratic country!

Where's the brain washing that made all of the country support a dictator? - obviously there is not brainwashing to the same extent as nazi germany, but there still is brainwashing, subliminal messaging, and propaganda.

Germany was internationaly opposed, the US is not. The US is not trying to practice imprialism. I disagree with the invasion of Iraq, but it wasn't out of the hunger for power or land. This is not Hitler, this is not Napoleon

yes, germany was international opposed, but how do u determine wether a whole country is opposed? just because a represenative or leader for that matter opposes the country, does not mean people within it do. i'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of people oposed to US ideals.

    Ok, I shall admit that.

I must go to sleep now, it is almost 3 in the mornin', and I am exhausted. Went to a designer fashion show... and then danced my ass off with models in the after-party...good times :)
