In a direct assault on our democracy, a MAGA cult terrorist broke into Nancy Pelosi's home and viciously attacked her 82 year old husband with a hammer, shouting “Where is Nancy, where is Nancy?”

I think this is one of those similar but not same things maybe.

Certainly something I'd expect from an unhinged isimist on any quadrant of the political spectrum but I think calling this guy a MAGA is at the least misleading.

Since Biden's (legitimate) election, the amount of backlash towards the Democratic party has run the gamut from the bizarre to the viciously vengeful.

My late mother often said: "people can disagree about many things, and still remain civil to each other."

I am so grateful she is not alive to see all of this.

We can only be thankful that Mr. Pelosi did not lose his life, in this senseless, sickening attack.

As each day passes, I see a country perhaps even more divided than it was during the height of the Civil War.......we truly are living in VERY uncertain, violent times, where morals and human values mean less and less, to far too many........

This coming election is going to reveal where we are as a democracy. I would imagine Putin , the Chinese leader and the leaders of Iran are gleefully watching this nation tearing it's self apart.

 

Regarding religious extremists......

What I find to be the most unsettling and frightening aspect of all is that there is all too much "preaching hatred and intolerance" in the Name of the Lord, from so many denominations.

This, I believe, is the ultimate blasphemy, so very much in sync with all of the hatred and intolerance within political sectors, brainwashing the weak of mind and the gullible, while terrifying others, in so many ways.

And we call ourselves "civilized"?

I don't believe so.........

 

This, in itself, is frightening to contemplate.

Recall, Nero fiddled while Rome burned........IMHO, we now have too many "fiddlers" watching gleefully our great nation is being split asunder by devious, highly-destructive forces........

They often say: "ignorance is bliss".

If that is the case, then, indeed, we are living in a VERY blissful society, to be sure.....
