Agreed on avoiding the news channels. Too many people take everything they hear for face value. Sickening, really.

I much prefer books but I will admit to watching some TV shows for light amusment. You know, for something to pass the time, especially when you have insomnia. :)

I like watching Friends reruns mostly. Any of those comedy cartoons like South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy.. I'll catch those, too, if I'm bored.

    The internet rules the day!

Every side of the story, right when you want it... while your listening to free music and chatting to 7 love prospects/2 friends/3 family members.

    With TV you....

    Watch and get dumber.

I second ganja > TV... at least one makes you think.

the assumption the internet will be taken away/drastically changed stems from the assumption the government can do as they please.

Its called public service for a reason :)

Heh, I have to say that your hopeful attitude about everything can be a bit contagious. Even to me.

Look at it this way. There is too much money being made by to many people and corporations for the internet to shut down.

I was feeling a little frisky last night. A little television for enjoyment is okay. But far to many people make it their priority. They spend hours in front of it instead of experiencing life.

There is a whole world out there. Do not make television your life.

Again this is just my little rant. Take it for what it is worth...or not.

There is nothing wrong with anything until you abuse it. Veggin in front of the TV for 6 hours is perfectly fine... smokin herb and pondering the meaning of life for 3 hours, then reading a book for 3 hours... bad news. Time for logic to overrule such nonsense :)

madlizard, spread the good vibes and we can make some mentality changes... too many glasses half full and getting emptier out there :)

only if you use it right. smoke too much weed, you become a moron; watch too much tv, you become a moron. in small doses, weed can make you think, but so can tv if you watch the right shows and don't spend all your time on it

you basically made this point yourself when you said "There is nothing wrong with anything until you abuse it."

It has much potential that is rarely reached.

I tend to only watch NHL games, myself.

Trying to process as tangible the concept of "dead five times over" has caused a small cramp in the left side of my frontal lobe. Time to fire up the thought process neutralizer to ESPN and get a refill.

Since I moved to another city to go to college I don't have the TV and I feel as I'm reborn!..There are national elections going on in my country these days and I couldn't be happier to miss all of those fightings, insults, gossiping the rivals...Oh, what a bliss I'm in!...:)
But I do miss the Discovery and History channel from time to time....
