like I would order a regular coffee at Starbucks. Vanilla Cream at home. quad carmel machiatto with whip, extra carmel at Starbucks.
My coffee must be black. The thought of sweet coffee turns my stomach. I like alittle sugar in my iced tea. I use raw sugar in my hot tea, occasionally honey.
dangit, I forgot to say iced not hot. damn me for just waking up from a nap, my brain is still asleep.
I'm a coffee kind of guy with no sugar & cream comfort nonsense but I think I'm going through some sort of transitional period. the last 2 weeks it's been exclusively tea.
mos def. I love all of those. I am also a massive fan of Irish Breakfast. Its a little nuttier and stronger than normal tea. The nicest tea I have ever had is Harrowgate Yorkshire Tea....if you can manage to get it I recommend you do. Its hard to go back to cheaper teas afterward. Does anybody here roast their own coffee beans? Divine.
iced is WAY better than hot for caramel macchiatos. and four shots is good...less sweet, more coffee. though i dont like whipped cream at all. but at least with iced caramel macchiatos you get the chunks of caramel that shoot up the straw. i worked at starbucks for the past three years, but quit recently for school. they're a great company, despite everyone wanting to hate the big guy. i could go on a bit, but i digress. despite the glory that is an iced caramel macchiato, i prefer my coffee strong, and not sweet, or watered or creamed down.... i prefer my double espressos....but theres a place practically on campus where i can get far better plain espresso than i can from starbucks. but starbucks has some great plain coffees, just not usually what they're brewing. i suggest arabian mocha sanani (if you're feeling rich), ethiopia sidamo, kenya, sumatra, sulawesi, or if you can get them the gazebo blend or anniversary blend. if you live in seattle you can get the pike place reserve (formerly called pike place blend) not to be confused with the new, mediocre flagship blend, the pike place roast. anyway, they have a few good coffees and some good but expensive fancy espresso drinks, but im pretty much done with them. if you like straight espresso, starbucks is acceptable but not ideal. a word of advice....if you like iced caramel macchiatos, let me tell you something.... they are WAY WAY WAY more delicious if you substitute the toffee nut syrup for the vanilla! they are normally vanilla syrup toped with milk, then ice, then espresso, then caramel sauce. if you have them use toffee nut syrup instead of vanilla, i dont think you'll regret it. if you explain it was suggested to you but you dont know if you'll like it and go on about it, they'll likely give it to you to try for free. starbucks (if they go by what is encouraged by the unique corporate culture) is very likely to let you try something new for free. this may be more true with less busy stores, though. anyway, if you dont get it for free but you try it, if you dont like it they'll make you something you KNOW you like for free to replace it. if this is not the case for you and you try it, send me your receipt and i'll pay you back. trust me, though, it's very good also the soymilk they use is silk vanilla soymilk, and is sweeter than regular milk as well as more nutritious. if you want a sweet drink, have it made with soy.
Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon or if I'm sick and don't want a coffee. I love a maple vanilla tea (decaf) at bedtime...
