Ours is advertised as commercial free but they spend more time asking for donations that I would rather commercials.

 

Yeah tvo is kind of similar to PBS. I wonder if it used to have Dr. Who and you just never noticed.

 

yeah we get that one here too but nobody watches it because theyre always begging for money...i think its a michigan channel here because it used to have fred trost outdoors



we get dr who..or at least used too...i remember the tall guy ..stopped watching when they switched to a blonde guy like over 30 years ago i think

i remember black and white for bedroom tvs or as a backup when the color one broke a few times


good god we used to actually fix tvs......

 

PBS was great in the 80s, Dr Who, Are You Being Served, Red Dwarf, Red Green. I only liked Dr Who for the psychedelic vibe .. couldnt really keep up with the story.

I liked uncle Floyd but could never watch it because nobody else in the family liked it. I think they also had degrassi.

I used to have a 4 inches portable tv that was at the repair shop. It had connectors to play video games. I wanted to play super Mario Brothers on that tv so bad but never got a chance because it burned down. It was connected on the bar my mom worked at. Her friend died in the fire...actually it was the TV repairman that died. He fell asleep with a cigarette.

this past month has been donor month for all television public radio and television...twice a year but this was the bigg one.....so it has been all over the airwaves in October

dude is the 11th doctor who...or at last that's what I was told to search by my daughter


gearing up for a run to Toronto....looking for cheap tires and a bigger city has more stolen wheels on kijiji

 

one of my closest friends was a road tech guy for a television place for nearly a decade....he would pay me to come along so I could help carry out these massive 200 pound tv sets....people used to get color patches on their screen from having a magnet too close....usually because they had big ass stereo speakers too close to the tv......we would plug in this round home made thing that he would wave around in front of the picture tube and make those color spots go away.....70 bucks

 

It would be funny if she was just some random Dr. Like the 5th one that nobody saw or remembers except for the biggest who heads.

 

English comedy,.. I just don't get it or like it.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Him and buzzgunner always on about the wife share. And I maintain all the time it's lies because there are better lifestyle forums out there for that, like swinging sites. Not HF. You're only tooting your horn on HF.

I read all of the Anne Rice vampire chronicles and at the time I was in love with them all. So well written and so beautiful with a spin on history etc. and vampires. Vampires were cool back then.

 

Didn't you see the thread that said English comedy is the greatest?

(And then goes on to only mention sketch comedies which is the lowest style of comedy)

That's a good idea. I do that at Christmas.
