Talking can be violent. Threats, intimidation and such. Propaganda too. The US knows all about those forms of violence, and knows that it works.
Violence is not the answer to anything unless its your intention to be imprisoned or out right killed. By becoming violent you will just be giveing the powers that be the excuse they are waiting for to really come down on the people. NON violence is the way to go:2thumbsup:
People have been talking for as long as there's been people. And here we are. People have been violent for as long as there's been people. And here we are. So what's the answer? I don't know. Still trying to figure out what the right questions are.
Violence is the only way to what? If you want to get killed then yes violence might be effective. But the greatest of changes will come from civil disobedience. Violence brings more suffering.
It depends on how you define violence, ex. blowing up something that is the source of violence such as a slaughter house is considered violence to society...
The only thing I can think of violence being the only answer to is when it comes to self-defense. Violence isn't the best way to make a living; it's not the best way to find a lover; or have children. It's not the best way to be happy. It's not the best way to make a better world for tomorrow, sustain the environment, teach the youth. I don't think you've thought this one out.
That's not true. I've helped keep the Internet free multiple times a year, through activism. Help me, while you're at it: https://www.eff.org/ http://savetheinternet.org
I agree. You can't disrespect Hispanics anymore like by wearing American flag gear on Cinco de Mayo. You can't disrespect black men like by calling them niggers. You can't disrespect Muslims like by depicting Mohammed. But you can do whatever you want to women, as women are physically weak.
It's a game that gets played over and over----there's a very simple formula to it: violence begets violence. Mahatma Gandhi achieved quite a bit----a whole revolution----with a nonviolent ideology. But then at some point, violence was added to the picture----Indian politics has been very violent ever since... (ok, I know that is a bit of a generalization---but it is true, just the same.)
