But trying to link it with the topic, I personally believe that USA invaded Iraq for the sake of Israel.... Because Iraq is powerful country & America wants to make Israel the strongest country in the middle east. They support Israel with everything and invade Iraq, and soon syria & Iran...... Then later maybe Saudi Arabia

Let us not forget that Israel is ranked # 1 in the middle east for killing people (Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese) since Israel occupied Palestine 60 years with the support of British Colonial in the Middle East

Still, Israel is th only country that are allowed to own Nueclear Bombs in the Middle East!

GAZA CITY - "Is that Omar al-Mamluk? This is the Israeli army. You have only a few minutes to leave your house." The Israeli army's new tactic of telephoning people before dropping bombs on their homes is sowing panic in the Gaza Strip. All that is left of Mamluk's house in Gaza City is a pile of rubble. "It was Monday night, about 10:30 in the evening," said the officer from the Palestinian security forces who lived in the house along with his two wives and 19 children. "I received a call with the number of the caller hidden. I thought it was a prank by one of my mates. I asked: 'Are you joking?' and got the reply: 'The Israeli army doesn't make jokes.' Then the caller hung up." So Mamluk rounded up his children and took them to his brother's house before alerting his neighbors who then set up barriers on the road outside to stop cars or pedestrians entering the area. "They hit 25 minutes later," he said. "I'd expected an Apache (attack helicopter) but not an F-16 fighter jet." Israeli aircraft have dropped thousands of flyers on the Gaza Strip in recent weeks, warning people that all sites and buildings where weapons or military equipment are stored will be bombed. The warnings came amid a massive Israeli offensive that has now left 145 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier dead, and has wreaked massive damage on the impoverished Gaza Strip, where electricity is now rationed and sewage left untreated. The assault was launched in late June to recover a soldier captured by Gaza militants and to halt rocket fire from the strip into southern Israel. So far neither goal has been achieved. Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas on Wednesday demanded an immediate halt to the offensive, condemning what he called "unacceptable acts" and charging that "Israel is clearly violating the Geneva convention" in attacking civilian areas. Mamluk insists that the only weapon he had was the gun he was issued for his job. Mohammed al-Sheikh Dib, another security officer, also thought it was a joke when he got a similar call. But, after two missiles struck his home in the north of Gaza City, he wasn't laughing. "It was late Sunday. I got four calls from unidentified callers but I didn't bother answering. When the fifth call came, I finally answered," said Dib, who wore his pistol on his belt as he spoke. "A male voice asked me in Arabic if I was Mohammed al-Sheikh Dib. I said I was. He said: 'I am Danny from Israeli intelligence. We're going to bomb your house. You have one hour to leave. "He had a strong Hebrew accent," said Dib. Dib and his family quickly left, as did their neighbors. The Palestinian government on Wednesday condemned the Israeli tactics, accusing the Jewish state of "psychological warfare" aimed at creating a "climate of fear." "It's a pitiless terrorist government," said Dib.

According to the report, life has deteriorated dramatically for children since hostilities broke out in Gaza Strip, saying that the number of children killed in July alone (36) is among the highest monthly child death tolls since the beginning of the Intifada in September 2000. On water, the global organization revealed that most of the 120 water wells, the 33 sewage pump stations and the 3 waste water treatment plants managed by the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) were powered through the power station destroyed by the Israeli Air Force on June 28.

STOCKHOLM -- UN relief coordinator Jan Egeland on Friday, September 1, implored donor states to dig deep into their pockets to help the Palestinian people, warning that the situation in the Gaza Strip was a "ticking time bomb"."We need your generous support, as we need your help to ensure that there is a cessation of hostilities and that there is more access into and out of the Palestinian territories," Egeland said at the opening of a conference of donor nations in Stockholm, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).Officials from some 30 countries and some 20 international organizations were attending the conference, called to bolster the supply of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories, in particular the Gaza Strip.The conference is hosted by Sweden, Norway and Spain in collaboration with the UN.The UN has had difficulty raising the 385 million dollars (300 million euros) deemed necessary to avoid a humanitarian crisis in the wake of the recent upsurge in violence in the region."It is many ways incomprehensible that we have only 43 percent of this appeal covered," Egeland said.He criticised the isolation of the Palestinians, especially the closure of the road linking a supply facility in Karni to Gaza.According latest UN estimates, there is now a one-month stock of food in densely populated Gaza which relies on external food shipments through border checkpoints which have been periodically closed by Israel.The World Bank has warned that EU and US aid cuts, following Hamas's landslide parliamentary elections win in January, would adversely impact at least 30 percent of the Palestinian population which is dependent on government salaries.Unemployment stands at around 45 percent and the World Bank has estimated that two-thirds of the Gaza Strip population (1.4 million) lives under the poverty line, earning less than two dollars a day.Each square kilometer (0.4 square mile) in Gaza Strip shelters an average of 2,350 Palestinians, making it one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

Collapsing

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) also warned on Friday that the Palestinian economy was collapsing."The Gazan economy is collapsing and there is no trust for the future, no investment and no hope," Arnold Vercken, WFP director for Gaza and the West Bank, told Reuters in an interview."A signal of hope must be given to the Gazans to re-start the economy. It is a situation of survival."Infrastructure is also crippled while industries which have formed the backbone of the territory's economy, mainly farming and fishing, are in sharp decline, Vercken said."There is no more grain in the four major silos of the four major mills, and even if we are providing food to some of the needy in Gaza, that is 15-16 percent of the population, the trade has completely collapsed," he said."Since June no fishing is allowed at all and in fact you come to the fishing port and there is no more smell of fish. This puts out of work about 35,000 people who were living from the fishing industry."Vercken said the WFP hoped the donor conference, coming on the heels of a Lebanon meeting in Stockholm on Thursday, August 31, which raised more than $940 million, would secure funding of its relief effort in Gaza.The body is running a two-year operation in the territory, begun one year ago, which requires funding of $103 million, just under half of which has been secured."We have funding up to two months ahead," Vercken said.The Israeli army has killed at least 200 Palestinians, about half of them civilians, in the Gaza strip since it launched a wide-scale offensive after Palestinian fighters took prisoner a soldier in late June. Palestinians, however, see the assault as a ruse to topple the Hamas-led government.

Doctors in Gaza are reporting what they say are unexplained injuries among the dead and wounded in operations by the Israeli military, which have killed more than 200 Palestinians in the past nine weeks. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is considering whether there is a case for an investigation into the injuries amid suspicions by the medics that the injuries were inflicted by what they claim may have been unidentified "non-conventional" weapons.Beside especially severe burning "down to the bones", the doctors say that, in other cases, internal organs have been ruptured without any obvious sign of shrapnel wounds.While a report from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health said the injuries raised the possibility Israel could be using "unprecedented" projectiles with "radiant" substances, the medics acknowledge that there is no proof so far of their claims. They also admit that the difficulty of establishing the exact cause of death is greatly exacerbated by the reluctance of most bereaved Palestinian families to allow autopsies.Dr Juma al Saqqa, the director of public relations at Shifa Hospital, said the type of injuries presented by some victims were "very strange" and added: "We think this should be studied. In some cases we have opened the abdomen and found very fragmented organs." He said this was despite X-rays showing no shrapnel lodged in the patients' bodies. He said one, unsubstantiated suggestion by sympathetic doctors consulted in Italy was that some injuries might have been caused by phosphorus.The concerns were aired at the weekend by a group of Palestinian medics during a visit to Gaza by a delegation from Physicians for Human Rights - Israel (PHR). The delegation agreed to take away fragments of tissue from the bodies of Palestinians killed during the recent military operations in Gaza for possible analysis in Israel but urged the medics to seek an international investigation.

Dr Ambrogio Manenti, the head of the WHO's West Bank and Gaza office, said the organisation had undertaken a short preliminary assessment of the claims and had now referred the issue to the organisation's headquarters in Geneva so that it can decide whether fuller investigation was appropriate. The Israel Defence Forces said yesterday all its "weapons and ammunition are legal under international law and conform with international standards". It said it could not respond in greater detail without more information about the injuries.A leader of the PHR delegation, Professor Zvi Bentwich, said PHR was focusing on raising the numbers of patients allowed out of Gaza into Israel and Egypt for treatment and the relief of equipment and medicine shortages because of frequent closures of the main Karni crossing, and external training for Palestinian medical staff. PHR is pressing the Israeli authorities to reduce the costs of patients being treated in Israel. Professor Bentwich said the denial of external specialist treatment to Palestinians was a denial "of the basic human right to health". He added that military operations since militants captured the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in June had "exacerbated an already appalling situation".The army said the attacks were aimed at releasing Cpl Shalit and halting the firing ofrockets into Israel.
