My doctor thinks I may have SVT. Haven't been able to catch it on the monitor though. It only happens when I am sleeping. I wake up feeling there is something out of whack. A few minutes later my heart starts pounding like you would not believe. It beats super fast...off the charts. This lasts for about 5 or 10 minutes. After it settles down I get the shakes. I shake so bad my body aches the next day. I shake for probably close to an hour. I feel nauseous. My chest is tight and my breathing is not good. I can't go to work the next morning from the after effects. Sound familiar to anybody? These are NOT heart palpitations. Sure would like to talk to somebody having the same problem :(

hm, I wonder what causes it ._.

Do you have any issues with blood pressure or cholesterol or anything like that?

well, just that... firstly, of course any cholesterol or blood pressure issues can upset heart function. Also, hormones and stress levels I guess.

Digestive health kind of affects everything, and also can suggest infections and so on.

sorry to hear that this happening. I bet this is scary as hell.

reducing or eliminating tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and refined sugar might help.

    A meditation practice might help.

hope that things can get better soon!

Ya it scares the hell outta me. First 2 times it happened I called an ambulance. Thought I was having a heart attack.

I quit smoking years ago and since this has been happening I have given up coffee tea and diet coke. It has reduced the episodes. I do drink wine maybe I should cut back or stop altogether. Thanks :)

I guess any solution will depend on the cause of the abnormal heart activity.

But erm, I wish you the best with it anyway :)

Maybe best to let the doctor give a diagnosis first I guess.

Well she has given her diagnosis...suspected svt. Just that they haven't caught it on a monitor yet. I guess I was just looking for someone with svt to talk/message to. Thanks for your input :)
