There is tons of research that hygiene was lacking, and surely we can determine that partly through written sources but are there really tons of eye accounts of it being a taboo topic in those days in Europe? I thought there weren't a ton of eye accounts about anything (as the majority couldn't write). Maybe you can share some of your sources if you are not making that up.
In the middle ages most towns had bath houses. In fact cleanliness and hygiene was highly regarded to the point of being included in various important rituals such as those concerning knighthood. People bathed some more frequently than others and they used hot water.
I think we may be off track. I have yet to hear any taboo topics. There are of course lots of taboo practices--incest, shitting on the table, etc.--and rightly so. But it seems to me the closest we come to with taboo topics is in the area of political correctness--e.g., defending rape or child molestation, or suggesting that certain people are inferior because of race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. And even here, there seem to be substantial minorities of the population that don't accept the taboos. Where religion is concerned, there seems to be a lot of latitude, although treating sacred things irreverently will provoke angry reactions from believers and FOX News commentators.
Ok how about the topics of Race and its relation to IQ? Or the history of Jews being kicked out of countries again and again and again throughout history only to end up in a world where in the year 2014 media is largely dominated by an exclusive group of Zionists who run organizations like AIPAC and arrange for measures such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Anti-Semitism_Review_Act_of_2004 to be passed by bought politicians in the US.
I don't know about boring, how is it boring? Many matters of importance are affected by measurable distinctions. Public policy is dictated by facts about our genetics. Should we explore these facts or ignore these facts? I'd say it's more accurate to declare it as uncomfortable. It challenges our egalitarian views on which many laws are based. It's not an arbitrary discussion.
The measurable distinctions are what is the same is the same and what is diferent is not the same and this has it's purpose in that. The distinctions you are talking about aren't measurable at all those being based on a sliding scale.
It appears racism is not such a taboo to speak about in my country, as we learn every december. I also noticed certain US news items that deliberately make racism the focus of the item. Racism and race in general are also frequently talked about on this forum. Maybe they have learned a dolphin how to type
I have read your threads and considered the research you provided in support of your premise regarding IQ differences based on race. I also very clearly illustrated the flaws in both your premise and the methodologies employed in the work you were citing. It was a map of IQ's around the world taken from a book making a correlation between a nations wealth relative to IQ, and made the erroneous conclusion that race was the determining factor. Others in that thread also tore your premise and supposedly supporting documentation to pieces. In response you are the one who took it down the moronic and ludicrous path with your essentially neo-nazi bullshit rhetoric. I considered your ideas and position, investigated the source you cited (a far cry more than you did, remember, I actually read it, you just looked at the pictures.) So please tell me why in hell would I or anyone else here care to go back down the path yet again? give it up, go troll another board, you have been weighed in the balance and found to be a troll. or better yet, go pay a visit to Hotwater, I'm sure you two would have a lot to discuss.
