I wear anti-perspirant deodorant. But sometimes it doesn't work to stop my excessive sweating. I will be doing a calm activity, like read or surf the Internet, and I'll get arm pit sweat like I worked the fields all day long. Wearing an undershirt sometimes helps reduce the visibility of my sweat, but not always. I think this excessive sweating could be a side effect of my prescription medication. But I'm not sure. Any words of wisdom on how to stop this?
Hi, I too sweat excessively for no reason at all so I feel your pain. I found on on this site Go for prescription strength antiperspirants. These antiperspirants contain aluminum chloride, which is what will help you stop up your sweat ducts and keep you from sweating.
Assuming you're like me, you're probably not-so-calm, even though you feel calm. You have a nervous baseline, active mind, etc. Weed should help, or entirely fix it. For up to 48 hours after each use. You may notice caffeine greatly exacerbating the problem. Valerian root can help - 300mg or so will bring you down a very subtle notch, without putting you to sleep or anything. I'd guess kava would help too, but I haven't tried it for this. (I've tried it, but not in normal daily type doses, and not while thinking about my pits) *edit*. If odor's a problem, try rubbing alcohol - it will kill all the bacteria that make stink, and your sweat will be very mild or totally odorless. Optionally, trim your hair - leave some so it's got the surface area to help evaporate, but not enough to be like having a wet sponge under your arm.
As an excessively sweaty female, I found that I get a lot of help if I put on a clinical strength deodorant at night after I shower, and I put on mens deodorant in the morning (smells good too) and throughout the day if I'm feeling really sweaty I'll put some baby powder on that I keep in my purse (no ac in the car and baby powder is fantastic for sweaty cleavage). I feel much more dry this way.
Thanks for the link, I will look into it and I might give it a shot. I once used Arid brand antiperspirant deodorant, and I got skin rashes from it. That was my experience using something super strong. I guess my skin is more sensitive than normal.
