Well, it certainly has caused every state house in the country to scramble around to change existing law and statutes

This is what happens when the American people actually have a voice, which is so often silenced by their own state legislatures

    RED-STATE KANSAS REJECTS ANTI-ABORTION AMENDMENT

Kansas may seem like an unlikely place for abortion rights supporters to notch a major victory.

But on Tuesday, voters in the conservative state resoundingly rejected a constitutional amendment that would have allowed the Legislature to ban abortion. It was the first major test of voter sentiment since the Supreme Court ruling in June to rescind the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide.

Well, if a lot of things were left up to voters, there'd be a lot more sanity to government......like the 2016 election....

Even here in Massachusetts the state legislature was opposed to legalizing marijuana until a group of people submitted enough signatures to have it voted upon as a ballot question in 2012

The legislature had no other choice but to bend to the will of the people

Actually in 2016 the voters got it right as Hillary Clinton won the popular vote 65,853,514 v 62,984,828. But becasue we have the antiquated electoral college winner-take-all system which defeats the one person one vote principle, Trump was elected.

Electoral college. So much easier to buy than the public.

You can see why people don't vote, thinking theirs doesn't really count anyway....
