That's why this forum exists--to help newcomers feel less "threatened/insecure/afraid" about being barefoot in public. Yours is an extremely ordinary case of the jitters--we've ALL been through it...AND HERE WE ARE!
Nr3c, how can the members of this forum support and encourage you? Being barefoot is about comfort and enjoyment in life. If being barefoot brings you comfort and enjoyment that should be your major encouragement to continue. I know that is what motivates me. As for the non-barefooted they will for the most part leave you alone. Some may look in disbelief or disgust or amusement so be it. I have used those opportunities to positively and unashamedly explain why I am barefoot. A man saw me walking barefoot in the park and offered to buy me shoes. What a hoot that was. I thanked him and told him I had shoes but enjoyed going barefoot on my walks in the park. I am not full time barefoot, I find shoes useful and wear them when they are useful and socially appropriate. This summer I plan on going barefoot more often in non-park or hiking trail environments. You don’t have to be full time barefoot to enjoy a barefoot lifestyle. I admire those who have the confidence and boldness to be full time I believe they can make barefoot in public more acceptable and common place. Share your experiences and questions here on the forum, post a pic of your feet.

Well, I was made a barefoot boy by the help of another barefoot boy So I know where you come from, let me know if there's anything you need that can help.
You should go barefoot more and enjoy being barefoot it’s a great lifestyle and you should barefoot all the time
You should leave your room barefoot because you want to and you find it enjoyable. I had a large family gathering at my home yesterday, they all wore shoes the entire time except one older man and me. He wore flip flops or was barefoot. I was barefoot the entire time because I enjoy being barefoot. Iam now up getting ready to go to work, I am barefoot will drive barefoot to work. Then it is expected that I have shoes on so I wear barefoot shoes.
