Ya know what? Everybody's starting to take this all way too personally. Tell you what. I don't need to make any more nasty comments about george, or religion or politics or beliefs if its that upsetting. I've already said what I think and what I believe, so the rest is repetative. Being "judgemental" is fact of life. You can't form opinions without making judgements. And we obviously all have opinions or we wouldnt be here.

If a few of you want to get all upset thats fine, it shows that at least some people are thinking. And I believe people really NEED to stop and think a little more about everybodys different opinions. Try not to get so emotionally wrapped up in it, and step back and learn something from it all. What do you suppose brings every body to this point, flash point, anger, distrust, hatred even? Do you suppose this could be the reason that wars get started? What a beautiful lesson!

OK, so I tend to say some pretty strong things, but this problem requires some down and dirty gut level discussion, because so far nothing any of us does or says (Those of us who are strongly opposed to ANY war, violence, and killing) seems to have any effect. Serious times require strong words and strong opinions in order to develope strong discussion so we can become more aware of the problems we are dealing with...

There are some real folks here, and some who may not be what they seem. There are some who believe everything the media says, and some who question the "official" story. There are some leaders and some followers, there are probably even some "spies", either governmental or who knows who else.... And we all have one thing in common. We're human and we ALL deserve to live our lives HAPPILY and long without having to kill or be killed like a bunch of wild animals. Take it for what its worth. Sometimes the medicine tastes really bad.

You deserve to live your life happily, eh?

Welly, well, well, well, well. And just how did you earn such a privilege? You seem to be a naturalist of sorts...tell me, what other creature under the Powerful Sun 'deserves' to live life happily? The fire ant? The field-mouse? Or is it only you, I wonder?

That is quite a funny, thought, dear Earth Mother (and I hope you didn't sacrifice that horse...he deserves to live happily, or any of the mosquitoes that have bitten you, for they, too, deserve to live happily without anyone killing them. They don't intentionally kill you, after all)

And not to believe in ANY WARS? Why....you can't be serious! Surely you can appreciate that there is a time and a place for everything under the Sun! Let me bore you with an example...
I am a pacifist (generally speaking) myself. But on a particular occasion, a boyfriend of my sister's had the brazen gall to speak to her in the rudest manner imaginable at breakfast table in front of me and their children, a breakfast which she had made herself. My blood was hot in an instant, and before any sort of reason had time to rear its head in me, I had knocked him down from his chair and was baring my fangs, warning him never to let me hear him speak thus again. Was that a war? Was it not justified? (I'll not reproduce what he said, but I assure you you would agree) I certainly couldn't throw daisies at him and tell him to feel the love!

Well, I didn't mean to be yet another person bickering with you.
By the way, I'm a spy.

Agreed. There are times when violence can be justified because some people are oppressing other people and keeping them down. This is one of those times. The people must rise up against bush and his neocon bullies. Viva la revolucion!

As many here, I would like to keep some level of ambuiguity, but I assure you that I am not here under any orders from the US government. Aside from being able to track somebody through a dummy hotmail account and an IP address that is mirrored through an American ISP server, all we really have is our word right??? As far as motives, at this point in time I am just hanging out, trying to be be one of the crowd. [IMG]
I believe that others believe that. And I believe that it is an unfortunate and very dangerous thing, and when those people think that a higher power, their God, tells them that they are guaranteed a seat in heaven if they kill the infidel, the non-believer..... Somebody with such a lack of value and appreciation for life, is a very difficult enemy to defeat.

PS..It is not the ones that oppose you that you have to worry about. A clever foe will pose as a confidant to extract the information he needs from you...Usually.

I served for 10 years, and am insulted to the extreme for being likened to a brainwashed drone - a slave. I could make some generalizations about "earth mother", but I won't. She has a right to her opinions, naive as they may be. No, I've never killed a soul...never wanted too, either. But I would have. And I know many men that have, and it's not something they enjoyed. Who do they fight for, the government, or the folks at home. Neither. They fight for each other. Oh, if you want to look at the big picture, it's a war against terrorism in which we're fighting them in their own back yard. We transferred the battlefield from NYC to Iraq, and I believe that was a smart decision. But if you ask, most vets will tell you that they fight for the guys next to them. Geo-politics doesn't enter the equation. Brainwashed? OK, I'm a brainwashed patriotic American proud to have served, and would do it again, whether you appreciate it or not.

Well, Jaybird, I am glad you feel that way about serving this country. What unit were you in? My bf served 2 1/2 years in the army as a combat engineer before his bipolar disorder put him out of the army- of course, they didn't diagnosis that, it was borderline personality disorder. He was put on Zoloft, Prozac, Klonopin, Ambien, and Xanax before he was kicked out with no way to get refills. None of those drugs even treat the disorder that he REALLY had and just got him addicted.

While serving, he was constantly told, "we don't pay you to think." Sounds to me like they just wanted drones- those who do anything that they are told. Brainwashed? Hell yes! The basis of basic training is to break a person down so the army can build them up as team fighting machines. Deprogram the individuality in a person to become a cog in the military machine. Do not question.

The military is a cult, he says. I believe it.

    Peace & Love

We got told that everyday at my job too, and we were the graphic designers!

Most times, you arent paid to think, you are paid to do what you are told.

Get over it, thats the way shit is.

It's true, they'll tell you they're not paying you to think.

    Until you screw up.

Then it's, "What's the matter with you? Can't you THINK?!!
