How high? 27 miles high? Seriously, the story is sad because a person died that day. It really does not matter about the physics of the human body during this time. I respect those guys enormously.
Astronauts in the United States and Europe sent congratulations to Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner today (Oct. 14), showering the daredevil with praise after he broke the world record for the highest skydive during a harrowing supersonic freefall. Baumgartner, 43, set the new record for the world's highest skydive when he jumped from an altitude of 128,097 feet (39,044 meters) — the equivalent of just over 24 miles (39 kilometers) —and broke the sound barrier during his long descent back to Earth. The daring supersonic jump caught the eye of professional astronauts, even if Baumgartner did not leap from the official edge of space 62 miles (100 km) up. "Simply awesome job #Felix...now that's what I call pushing the limit!" British astronaut Tim Peake of the European Space Agency wrote via Twitter as astro. Hotwater :2thumbsup:
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Kirk, Sulu, and that other guy already do this? Of course, the one dude didn't make it.
There is some info on Bill Weaver and the SR-71 http://roadrunnersinternationale.com/weaver_sr71_bailout.html http://www.wvi.com/~sr71webmaster/srloss~1.htm If Weaver could survive an ejection at mach 3 why do they think D.B. Cooper must of been killed when he jumped out of a 727 ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper desert rat p.s. in the story by Bill Weaver he is saying his pressurized suit saved him from the g force shock . D.B.Cooper had only street cloths .
