We are probably lucky...we see amazing things every single day. It did seem like an anti-climax. But think, a person jumped from a stationary object from 24 miles up in the air. Reached the speed of sound. Made it to earth safely. That is something neither one of us could or would do.

I await the conspiracy: He did not do it. Clearly the shadows on the capsule were super-imposed. Nobody can survive 24 miles up in the atmosphere. America allowed it to steal the oil under Roswell.

To be fair, I said: "I await the..." - I wasn't trying to create a conspiracy. I was merely waiting for one.

    pttf..
On January 25, 1966, Bill Weaver, a US test pilot aboard an SR-71 Blackbird aircraft, was ejected from his damaged plane at Mach 3.18 - more than three times faster than the speed of sound..

When he ejected was his body traveling at Mach 3.18?

Its top secret.. , Idk, I can find anything sound on it. few stories, but Im high.. http://roadrunnersinternationale.com/weaver_sr71_bailout.html

This flight was to research and improve high mach cruise performance by reducing trim drag which would lower fuel burn and increase range. The un-start occurred during a turn at speeds above Mach 3.17 and a bank of 35 degrees. The bank immediately increased to 60 degrees; the nose pitched up and the aircraft broke apart at station 720. Lockheed pilot Bill Weaver was thrown clear (his ejection seat never left the plane) and he blacked out during the accident but recovered and landed on the ground safely. Tragically, his Reconnaissance System Officer (RSO), Jim Zwayer did not survive the high-G bailout
