I like cat eyed frames. Right now I have a pair of black cat eyed glasses with little pink flowers all over them. They were 12 bucks at target. I like sunglasses for a number of reasons - I have sensitive pale eyes and I tear up in bright light, plus they help a great deal with my social anxiety and they cater to my natural voyeuristic tendencies. And I just think they're cute.
They look similar to my reading frames which I have a pair of clip over shades for. I call them the "Himmler frames". Someone once said I looked like Harry Potter.. I said no.. Himmler! They don't work all that well for me in the sun though, still many areas for the sun to shine through into my eyes and make the tear up.
mine are similar to the above picture. they sure weren't $10 though, i think those things are like $2-3 around here. i wouldn't pay more than that because i leave them on my car seat and either sit on them or unknowingly drag them out the door with me every few months. don't you live in oregon? i didn't know you guys had any sunny days.
I have heard that many of the (cheaper) brands are quite ineffective and actually serve as a detriment to your eyes by reflecting light off of the inner part of the glass and your eye.
I wear them, not to look cool either but because my doc said they help protect the eyes. I have some cheap ones and some slightly pricy ones plus a prescription pair. My brother bought me a pair of Ray Bans with a white frame several years ago and I still have them, they look cool on me so I was told but I can pull off many styles easily, hats I am not so good at. Rarely does any kind of hat make me cool or even ok for that matter.
Honestly there is no difference between a half wit and a whole wit, wit being the witty thing it is. I look cool in the shade of sunglasses. That is the view is better at times through them.
My eyes have always been sensitive to bright light. I wear prescription transition lenses that get dark in the sun or snow. Those don't work in the car, so I either use clip on's or a pair of sunglasses if it is bright when I am driving. The glasses are to protect my eyes. I don't think of them as any kind of fashion statement.
I like narrow black rectangles but I can never find any. For such a simple design, it seems like they should be more popular.
I have the feeling over here the big 70's aviator style (especially those yellow coloured ones) sunglasses are perceived as the typical hippie style sunglasses. Personally I don't like to wear any sunglasses at all. Not because they don't look cool or anything (i sometimes like the look) but because I generally prefer to see the world without looking through darker glasses. I also prefer to carry the least amount of stuff with me as possible and dislike stuff on my head all day (or just carrying around with it), this also counts for headsets, ear buds etc. etc. It's nothing serious but I guess it could be said I'm a little bit neurotic about stuff on my face/head
I wear them ONLY to look cool. That is their only purpose. Just kidding. I buy cheap sunglasses because I don't take care of them so they get scratched up easily. I just throw them in my purse or in my car. The pair I've had now I've actually had for a few years but they're getting pretty scratched. I don't know how to describe them but they are black and teal, I think. I honestly can't remember because I don't really care.
I usually go for the metal framed aviator types, because I can bend the arms and stuff to make them fit better. I don't think I look cool in them, but they stop my eyes from being damaged, and make driving at sunrise or sunset a lot safer. They usually get left in my car, otherwise I'd just lose them or break them.
