Hello, I'm an engineer, so I might be totally wrong. But don't you use heavy maths like statistics or differential equations to model processes like rabbit populations and stuff? Regards Gyro
Just have to use Statistics and mainly hypothesis testing in that. I find that quite interesting but cannot stand Mathematics at all.
Hello, we used wood stoves while I was young. They worked great, but made a lot of work, too. I can still remember the nice frost patterns on the window panes during winter time . Regards Gyro
Hello, I might sound like an old fart , but at the time I was forced to learn some math I wasn't very enthused. I guess the main reason for this was that they didn't told us what all that stuff is usefull for. Now, a few years later, I always find things I don't know, but that I should know. If I then start learning I find more stuff that I don't know and so on. Phew, back to the cake . Regards Gyro
Hello, it's 13pm and an hour south of me it is 18C and rising. I guess this is the warmest Christmas in this area since they started recording the temperature. Regards Gyro
Alright. Another point I just come across is that most of the people don't exactly know the difference between Mathematics and Statistics. Lots of people, I come across, consider Statistics as one of the areas of Mathematics. Well, in reality, it is not at all so.
Good day! It's Monday now so we should leave all thoughts of Sunday behind. It's a beautiful day and all is well in my world I'm cooking pears with lemon juice, brown sugar, sultanas, cinammon and nutmeg. I'm going to serve then with créme fraîche. :sunny:
Good day to you too! Oh wow, this thread is making my mouth filled with water, even on Monday now. Its yummy......A bright sunny day, here too. And its a pre-Christmas day,wow.....:tree:
I absolutely love that wee christmas tree animated thing. Totally brightens up my life! I'm eating chocolate eclairs!
I thought Statistics came from that scary backroom in Hell. It makes zero sense to me. In all probabilities I'm 100% sure I'll never figure it out.
Goood morning, that was great and a little bit sad. It has so many moments in it that I can remember from my youth. Except for the bear . Regards Gyro
I swear you can tan in the heat over here! 35 Celsius here, too. It was almost 40 yesterday. I've been spending the past two days drinking beer in the evenings and frolicking at the beach most of the day, getting bitch-slapped by waves. My hair feels disgusting, but it was worth it!
