Summer (and Spring) 2019

I know most HF-ers are in the Northern hemisphere winter, but it's summer here and so I'm starting this thread now : )

you know it's a big bookstore when they have an entire section on aircraft.

 

I’m questioning the quality of our contributions to this thread. You got me beat tho, your observation wasn’t gross.

 

Today I learned Undies has good eyesight. I only know the sign says aircraft because undies pointed it out

 

I would shop there hard, boogers or not.

 

20/20 last i checked.

although i'm not sure if you're on a phone, but i'm on a computer with a decent sized monitor and it's pretty easy to see. if you have a similar setup and still struggle then maybe i do have better eyesight that i even thought.

 

I like those sticks and rocks @Driftrue. Summer feels like it's right around the corner. I don't miss the heat, honestly. Here in California it has been raining (southern part).

 

That beach is covered with driftwood, some of which I will scavenge and monetize : )
That bit, I fell in love with. It's heavy and prettier than the picture shows.. Too heavy and big to take home.. So the picture was a compromise.

I'm upset that you've made me think about boogers in second hand books. But no worry, I wasn't expecting high quality contributions until at least April. I'm just happy no one hates me for this thread, or are keeping quiet about it if they do.

 

Yeah sorry about that. It’s just something I noticed about library books so I assume it goes for second hand as well. Thought I might prepare you for a possible, “Aw gross! Are you fucking kidding me!? Goddamn savages,” reaction.

At least that’s normally my reaction.

Eh, I’m full of shit. I just thought pointing it out would be amusing because I’m an asshole. There was nothing noble about it.

Usually I stop going for awhile until my disgust dies down and I can risk it again.

It happens a lot less in more academic works or proper literature.

Maybe sci fi nerds are just inherently more disgusting people on average. I don’t know.

This isnt a universally noticed phenomenon?

 

It's honestly never happened to me that I can remember. Even as a kid.

Used books can be treasure troves. Just stay away from the booger infested sci fi section
