I'm making a CD of all 80's tunes. I have Just What I Needed (the Cars), Don't You Forget About Me and Head Over Heels(tears for fears), The Killing Moon (echo & the Bunnymen), and If You Leave (the Cure)......any thoughts?
ok, well. il extrapolate. I hate how every song is primarily about women, sex, alcohol, and partying. I hate how every song sounds the same. I hate how they dress, and how they bang their heads like theyre the shit.
Ooo, good one. Hadn't even thought of them. I have that song Mad World from Donnie Darko too, but I don't know if it's from the 80's or not....

Wow.....lots of suggestions ^_^ I'll have to make more than one cd, there's a lot of good stuff here....
the Smiths/Morrissey the band 'Electronic' w/ Bernard Summer(sp?) and Johnny Marr The Lightning Seeds, anyone remeber them? Devine's 'Love Reaction' (if you have it) instead of New Order's 'blue monday' and Revolting Cocks, Ministry's "With Sympathy" is a swirly-girly new-wave album from the musician who would later join the pantheon of industrial gods, Alien Jourgenson. early NIN, if you don't give a shit about the critics, the cure and, of course, some Thrill Kill Cult... all the last are decidedly LATE 80's. hmmmm... I guess it depends on what KIND of 80's mix you're doing... top 40's 80's or 'alternative' 80's or 80's rap like Whoudini and Grandmaster Flash or 80's country... etc
oh yeah man, Blue Monday seemed to permanently onna radio during the 80's...as did soft cell with Tainted Love (although that's not one of my faves) and don't forget culture club!
