I'll second that. Listen to "Stephnie Says", or "Pale Blue Eyes"... there are many to choose from.

If you want something that could help you to feel veeeery sad,i suggest you to listen to this Janis Joplin's songs :''Little girl blue'',''A Woman Left Lonely'',''Maybe'',''Kozmic Blues'',''Call On Me''...Or ''Here without you''-3Doors Down, ''Little Wing''-Hendrix,''So Lonely''-The Police- and if you can download italian music, and you want to hear something different ,i can suggest you some songs that really makes me feel depressed.. ''Ebano'' by Modena City Ramblers,''Il Quadro'' By Le Orme,''L'ora dell'amore'' by Camaleonti,''La luce dell'est''By Battisti,...

Try some bands like Evoken, My Dying Bride, Saturnus, Mourning Beloveth, Morgion, Shape of Despair, Cryptal Darkness, My Shameful and Esoteric. It's metal, but not aggressive, instead VERY slow, with a desolate atmosphere and sad melodies and thus very depressing.

Some doom metal bands later on turned to a more depressive rock approach, like Jack Frost, Anathema, and Katatonia, which might be more up your alley.

The Smiths are perfect if you want to listen to depressing music. But Syd Barrett's solo stuff is just so desolate...

Southern Death Cult was the early name of The Cult, who are amazing. One of the best bands ever. Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy (the singer and guitarist) started doing a new album last month.

    But The Cult aren't depressing.
