Success or failure, Twitter at the hands of Elon Musk

    Day one, fire the top bosses.

    The he brought a sink into that tacky headquarters building in run-down old moldy San Francisco...How soon will he fire three quarters of the staff and move the company to Austin, Texas?

    And to think he wants LESS moderation... HA HA HA!!!!

    I have been there and seen the drastic results of that.

    What are your thoughts???

    It will all come down to the dollars. If the advertisers and users won't tolerate the level of manure being shoveled out he'll be forced to adjust. Twitter and Facebook thrive by gleaning the personal info of users and selling it to the advertisers. Without robust activity amongst users and advertisers the model doesn't work.

    So I think this is the initial punch in the nose to set the landscape, and then back to business as usual. There will still be moderation. He may think less for now, but he will soon learn how ugly that gets.

    He started out with a tweet about "more to the rest of the story" on the Paul Pelosi attack - then deleted it - but not until he had several thousand people responding.
    Social Media influencers - such as Elon - and others I will not mention - just boggles this old man's mind.

    This guy is a loose cannon. Being on the spectrum as he is and as rich as he is, I don't think he quite understands how regular people exist with each other. His filter is pretty loose. I think he's doing a huge disservice to his shareholders, too.

    He should stick with his Teslas. Space X is also cool and all. I don't see that program lasting long. Twitter sucks as is and will go down hill a lot more.

    How will Elon Musk make Twitter profitable?

    Most of that growth will come from Twitter's ad-supported business, including Twitter Blue, for which users pay $3 a month to customize their experience on the app. According to the pitch deck, Mr. Musk expects 69 million users of Twitter Blue by 2025 and 159 million in 2028.

    I don't use it.

    Twitter is doomed. He'll fire half the team and all the good people will leave. What?? It's not an honor to work for Elon??

    And then again, I could care about Twitter. All part of the "ooooh, look at me" generation.

    At the risk of sounding too simplistic - Twitter has been one of driving forces in destroying civility and raising negativity. Fox News is another... Facebook, too.

    There's something about that guy. I can't quite put my finger on it. He rubs me the wrong way.

    I don't believe people will pay for that crap with all the free alternatives.
