As far as religious people and conservative people, well...I am just going by what I see and hear. Religion and Conservatism has always been a good mixture, especially if you want a good old fascist state. And yes, I put a lot of confidence in science. I do think that chemical and behavioral therapy will eventually override such primitive contraptions as "prison" and the barbaric practice of "capital punishment". But, progressive people like me have always been shades ahead of their time.
